RB Ollie Gordon II

They’re keeping Ingold, along with the 3 young backs.

Mattison is the problem, he’s guaranteed almost $1.2M of his $1.9M compensation for 2025. I mean it’s not a lot of money but ideally we can trade him before the season starts and recoup some of that. He just has nothing on Gordon so keeping him isn’t ideal.
Last year, we carried 4 RBs and Ingold most of the season, didn't we? Opening week 2024, our offensive roster consisted of 5 WRs, 9 OLs, 4 TEs, 4 RBs, 2 QBs, and 1 FB. Defense consisted of 5 IDL, 5 Edge, 5 ILBs, 6 CBs, 4 Safeties.

Gordon gives the impression of a RB who's more suited to NFL than he is to college football. This is not uncommon and a reason a lot of successful RBs at pro level are drafted late or UDFAs.
Ollie was drafted late because his best season was not his last college season. If you flip-flopped 2023 and 2024, he'd have gone Day 2.

It will be interesting to see who gets more playing time between Wright and Gordon.

Wright had a few moments, but a lot of struggles as well. Gordon could very well end up getting more playing time than expected.
RBBC. From week to week, ride the horse who has the hot hand.

This is the ideal way to add an RB. It is the most fungible position in football. Good ones like Ollie slide through the cracks every year. Wait til the 5-7 area, and take one who fits your system. It's not often a Doak winner is still on the board that late. Especially without any recent injury history.
When I saw him throw that TD pass in the Senior Bowl, I wasn't thinking he'd ever be a Dolphin.

Gerald Doaks Winner?

LOL. So we should have bypassed the 2023 Doak Walker Award winner to take a game manager QB that would never be any more of a threat to Tua than Ewers will be. Doak is turning over in his grave at such nonsense.
The 2023 player was impressive the 2024 not so much. I've already said I don't know which guy we drafted in Gordon 2023 or 2024 version.

Now that being said, Grier taking Ewers was a pleasant surprise, for the first time I see us actually having 3 QBs on our roster who wouldn't look out of place on and NFL field.

Correct. I didnt mean that it didnt work out with Tua. I meant those 2 points separately. We've seen a deliberate weight change with Tua for a purpose on the field. And the other being we've seen players in general add or lose weight and it doesnt work out. I should have been more clear, Im just working at the same time
tua was about 245 at the end of the 2023 season..

i can guarantee you noone told him to gain that amount of weigh DURING the season, cause i can also guarantee you he was not at 245 in camp.

I'm sorry I'm not sure I see your point? We know Tua added weight to basically "pad" himself. One could argue whether or not it made a differenc, was good, bad, or the other. I prefer lighter Tua because his head is the biggest issue and that has nothing to do with the weight room

But we're talking about Ollie. He added weight on purpose. Not sure if it effected him negatively, positively, or it doesn't matter all that much. We'll see what Miami asks him to do and maybe he will get questioned about it in camp and we'll get a better idea as to whether he liked being bigger or if he thought it bogged him down

I cannot recall the last time we've had two backup QBs, both with the accolades of Wilson and Ewers.

I agree. Whether we see the quicker 215 Ollie, or the bigger 230 Ollie will depend on what the team requests of him.
