Like everyone else on the board, I am hopeful that Ricky will be back in action this year. If not, what do you think our RB situation will be? Ronnie will obviously be starting, but who will be the number two guy? I see at least 3 possible options: 1) Stay with the guys currently on the roster 2) Pick up someone via free agency or 3) Draft a RB. If we were to take option 3, I wonder what the likelihood would be of us taking a Deangelo Williams or LenDale White if either were avaliable to us at 16? Or... is there anyone in the 3rd round that we could take that would be a good value pick?

Not a chance in hell we draft a running back in the first round two years in a row. Especially since the only great back in this draft will go first overall. If we draft someone, it'll be in the later rounds. Probably on the second day of the draft.

Sammy Morris is your backup if Ricky is gone by suspension or trade. Pretty much the only thing that changes that situation is if White drops to Miami's pick in the 3rd round.

You never know. Kay Jay Harris was supposed to be first day talent, and he fell out of the draft.

I'm not saying he WILL fall, but I'm saying that's the only scenario I see Miami taking or signing somebody who might get a shot ahead of Morris.

I hope you're wrong. I like Sammy Morris and don't have a problem with him being the 2nd string back if I were certain that RB would stay healthy....but of course that's never a guarantee for any player.

I would like to bring in a backup who I would feel comfortable w/ as a starter for at least a few games. A couple guys who come to mind are Anthony Thomas and Stephen Davis.

I think Sammy could do fine as a backup to Ronnie. I would also like to see KayJay get some carries.

like I said not only will he get some carries, he's gunna replace ricky if we need him to and he can.

No way we take a RB in the first 3 rounds (probably not at all, with maybe a flyer in the 7th). We have our RB talent in Brown and if Ricky's not around, then all we need is a backup and Morris fits the need. If Nick really wants some additional experienced depth, just wait until after the draft, there will be a number of experienced backs getting cut off of teams that we could pick up to do the job. No need to use up a valuable draft pick for someone who will not play very much.

Can't waste our first rounder on a running back.No way.Saban wouldn't even consider it.We would either stay with what we got or sign somebody.
