This is Venting post so if you are weak hearted or take things personal please leave now.

First of all i just read a thread on Jason taylor possibly being traded. Almost 99 percent of the replies to the thread were people agreeing with a move as well as discussing what they would take for him. I think in my OPINION you guys are talking like bandwagon fans. Heres what i mean. Everyone is saying oh he dizerves a playoff team. Jesus Christ guys we could possibly be a playoff team next year. We have upgraded in many positions with many more moves on the way weather through free agency or the draft. Lets take a look at jason's stats for the last five years so we can have a realistic view on what we would be losing.

Now im not sure but he looks like he still has some gas in the tank, Im not pissed that people are saying trade Jason yet they are saying trade Jason because he needs a playoff team. Im no mind reader and i cant tell the future, and i might not be able to afford a VIP membership so i might not be able to be taken seriously but if a fan of another team comes on to FINHEAVEN and read's the way you guys are talking they would think geeze the fans dont even think they will be a play off team.
Remeber guys im a nobody here i guess but everyone should change their aspect of thinking and say proudly next year we will be a force to be rockoned with and sure enough we will be....Thankyou!

Yes, we may make the playoffs, but it is more likely we won't (after going 1-15 last year). The Tuna is rebuilding this team, and if we can get a couple early picks for him then I think it is worthwhile. Yeah it would suck seeing JT and Zach both leave, but most of us are Phin fans first and fans of individual players second.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, no one way of thinking makes you a "real fan". We are all real fans, we just have different views on how to fix the team.

Yes he has 117 sacks, 41 FF, 7 Int, yadah yadah yadah. Of course we are all going to miss him if he does go, but the team comes before I. If the way the team is to improve is to get rid of Jason then Jason has to go. It is always sad to see a very productive player go, but sooner or later they have to. He will be 34 and we still have a chance to get very good compensation for him because he is good. Do I want to see him go? No I don't. Do I think it will be best for the team? Probably. Your opinion is to keep him, my opinion is to back up our new front office in whatever decisions they choose to bring back this franchise.

By the time he is finished, he will be within the top 10 all-time in the sack department. You just do not trade a 1st ballot hall of famer.

You just do not get it. BP is not going to trade the best player on his team. He is not going to trade a future hall of fame DE that is still getting it done. I just do not see it.

I love that term "real fan." Because I think we should get value out of Taylor while he still has some, that makes me a bandwagon fan? Discount the fact that I pay $36 per year to be here, I'm on hours upon hours every day, and all I talk about is the Dolphins. But because I want to trade JT, I'm not a real fan. Too funny.

i agree thats why i said this was my OPINION.

Well, you said it's your opinion that they are "bandwagon" fans

You can have an opinion that it would be more valuable to keep him, but it isn't really a fair opinion if you are judging another person's "fanhood." It's my opinion that getting decent picks for an aging, dancing DE during a rebuilding period is a smart idea in the long-run. But...I'm not going to make the argument by saying I'm the type that is a "real fan" or that it is my opinion that those who don't agree hate the team and are delusional. You argue by making points, while respecting the views of others. Almost everyone here is a "real fan" or they wouldn't be sitting here reading a message board, all Saturday.

The main reason why I am so for keeping Taylor here is this: With Zach gone, the only Dolphin that really is a Dolphin in my heart is Taylor. He has been with this franchise his whole career and to see Taylor and Zach go in the same off-season, man that would be hard. It's getting to a point where i cant even watch old games from 1990-2004 becuase I get so depressed about the players we had, the missed opprutinites we had. I would give anything to re-live those days with a different head coach. when you add up all the missed oprutunities, Zach Thomas a Dolphin for years and one of the best LBs to ever suit up in Miami, I couldn't see Jason go. He's the only memory we have from the old days, and if he goes, those memories are just going to be bitter sweet.

As difficult as it may be to think of JT ( and Zach for that matter) not lining up with the Fins next season, it's what is best for the team. We've suffered thru 8-10 yrs of miserable play (with Zach and Jason as notable exceptions).

A real fan wants his team to win, regardless of the price...I don't consider myself a bandwagon guy (I used to watch the Fins practice at Biscayne college), so bandwagon can't be used to describe me..but IF we can get two draft picks for JT as is being rumored..I say go for it...I'll miss his play here, but a) he may not fit very well in this D b) while he has not shown signs of slowing down, it's inevitable to be happening soon and c) we probably can get two or three players to fill the major holes we still have with the cap space we'll save by trading him....

It's just as simple as the best thing for the team right now...sad as it sounds...

Good point. Just because you say, "in my opinion, you are a jerk" or "in my opinion, you are a fake fan if you wanna get rid of JT", doesn't mean you're not going to offend people.

Its like in Talladega Nights where Ricky Bobby prefaces a bunch of insults with the phrase, "with all due respect" and expects not to offend the guy!
