* I compiled a list of players who are draft eligible for the 2010 Draft and ranked them according to their talent according to my own opinion. I left Mark Herzlich on the list because the guy is a warrior and I hope he kicks this cancer's *** because this guy is not only a tremendous talent, he is a great kid. I ranked 130 players and I know I left some out so feel free to add to this list. I left explination for the first 30. If you disagree, let's debate; the NFL is too damn slow over the summer so a few arguments (mature without turning into an episode of the Real World) is good for us all. Without question I have Eric Berry as the best player in the nation.

2010 NFL Draft Scouting Primer
1) Eric Berry-Safety-Tennessee- Why: Think Ed Reed here. This kid is the total package with great ball skills. He led the nation with 7 interceptions in 2008

2) Gerald McCoy-Defensive Tackle-Oklahoma-Why: McCoy would have been the first Defensive Tackle taken in this years’ draft but elected to return for his RS Junior season. Possesses good size, plays with a high motor, and is a disruptive force in the middle

3) Mark Herzlich-Outside Linebacker-Boston College-Think Total Package. Ability to rush the passer, play in pass coverage, and stout against the run

4) Sam Bradford-Quarterback-Oklahoma-Why: I think the Lions would have taken him #1 overall had he declared. Bradford has a strong arm and is a very accurate passer. Was the 2008 Heisman Award Winner

5) Ndaukong Suh-Defensive Tackle-Nebraska-Why: Has unmatchable strength and plays with elite quickness. Big-time run stuffer in the middle

6) Dez Bryant-Wide Receiver-Oklahoma State-Why: Most impressive receiver in this draft class. Big play potential with solid hands and very good speed.

7) Terrence Cody-Nose Tackle-Alabama- Mammoth Nose Tackle is a perfect fit for any 3-4 defense. His size and strength are superior to any Center in the NFL.

8) Bryan Buluga-Offensive Tackle-Iowa-Why:Strong Left Tackle with tremendous upside. Quick feet and good punch which makes him a Top 10 Pick in 2010.

9) Brandon Spikes-Inside Linebacker-Florida-Why: Physical presence in the middle who can really lay the lumber. Very impressive against the run

10) Jevan Snead-Quarterback-Mississippi-Why: Perfect size and a gun for an arm. All American Honorable mention for 2009.

11) Russell Okung-Offensive Tackle-Oklahoma State-Why: Athletic Tackle with tremendous upside. I think he will be a top 5 pick in 2010

12) Morgan Burnett-Safety-Georgia Tech- Why: This guy is just a complete safety who is a tremendous athlete with amazing instincts. He had 7 interceptions in 2008 and took one to the house

13) Everson Griffin-Defensive End-USC-Why: This guy is best speed rushing Defensive End prospect in the class. A great combination of speed, size, and quickness.

14) Colt McCoy-Quarterback-Texas-Why: Very intelligent football player with great mobility. Very accurate and smart with the ball in his hands.

15) Carlos Dunlap-Defensive End-Florida-Why: Great size and production which could land him as a Top 10 pick in 2010.

16) Jermaine Gresham-Tight End-Oklahoma-Why: think a more Athletic Antonio Gates. Mismatch in coverage against any NFL Linebacker.

17) Taylor Mays-Safety-USC-Why: Despite a lot of people having him as their #1 safety don’t think he is the class of Berry or Burnett but Mays sure looks the part. Rare combination of size and speed and could be a solid player for a long time
18) Arrellious Benn-Wide Receiver-Illinois-Why: Good size and athleticism but is a little raw. Needs to find the end zone more in 2009,

19) Javhid Best-Running Back-California- Last year as a Sophomore he was third in the nation in rushing. All Pac 10 last year looking for a big-time Junior season to cement himself as the #1 back in this draft.

20) Sergio Kindle-Outside Linebacker-Texas-Why: Big time rass-rusher who will excel as an Outside-Linebacker in a 3-4 defense.

21) Jonathan Dwyer-Running Back-Georgia Tech-Why: Runs with great power and vision and could turn to be a better pro than collegiate player.

22) Greg Hardy-Defensive End-Mississippi-Why: This guy carries some baggage but he is very versatile and productive. Pro-Bowl talent at the next level.

23) George Selvie-Defensive End-South Florida-Why: Tremendous pass rusher who struggles against the run. I was surprised he returned for his Senior year.

24) Jerry Hughes-Outside Linebacker-TCU-Why: Another tweaner Defensive End/ Outside Linebacker with amazing pass rushing ability. Very consistent football player.

25) Geno Atkins-Defensive Tackle-Georgia-Why: is strictly a 4-3 defensive tackle but is very productive. Also a very good kid with high character.

26) Trent Williams-Offensive Tackle-Oklahoma-Why: Big strong Left Tackle that kept Sam Bradford upright most of last season

27) Joe McKnight-Running Back-USC-Why: Small back whose play has not outweighed his hype. Needs to find the end-zone more often but does have home-run speed

28) Rolando McClain-Inside Linebacker-Alabama-Why: McClain has tremendous size has been a starter since his freshman year

29) Joe Haden-Cornerback-Florida-Why? Big time corner for the best team in the nation.

30) Tim Hiller-Quarterback-Western Michigan-Why? Big arm and accurate. 1st Rounder in 2010.

well done and i agree berry is without question the best player available in 10.

personally i think you have rolando mcclain too low and brandon spikes way too high. spikes imo gets run over in the run game but i think shows solid skills dropping into zones in coverage and reading the qb.

give me mcclain any day over spikes for miami.

and i also think u just like the rest of the country severely underrate ras i dowling cb uva.

Eric Berry would've been the best player in the 2009 NFL draft IMO had he been eligible....

I like the plays Spikes has the ability to make in college....especially in coverage, etc....but I think McClain is going to be the better pro....his game translates nicely to the NFL....best block shedding linebacker in the country IMO...experienced....battle tested...productive...durable....tough....a real thumper in the middle....and if you knew his personal story....he's a guy that's easy to root for...I've watched him since high school when he was one of the top recruits in the state...

Hope Mark Herzlich can overcome this battle with cancer....because I don't think there's really a LB in the NFL to accurately compare him to...his skillset is so wide....he's good in every aspect....Herzlich is a unique defensive talent...How well he tests in post season evaluations is what I'd be curious to see....but the film doesn't lie...

Tim Hiller is the quarterback that I think might end up the best pro out of all these senior quarterbacks....

...and while I pay no attention to stats and awards when evaluating quarterbacks at the collegiate level because they can be so skewed....Sam Bradford's aren't.....he has uncanny accuracy....ball placement....hits a moving target as well as any QB I've seen recently....and Jevan Snead displayed more legitimate NFL tools as a passer in one year as a starter than I've seen out of Tim Tebow in 3 years...

I also like Colt McCoy's quick decision making and accuracy....this class of QB's is WORLDS better than the 2009 class IMO....which was one of the worst I've ever seen...

Jimmy Clausen is going to be the best junior quarterback prospect IMO....I'm probably in the minority but I LOVE Clausen's NFL potential....I don't care what his stats say....I believe he's ready to turn the corner in his development and cut down on his mistakes....

I think Eric Decker is as good of an NFL WR as there is in this class...Dez Bryant and Arrelious Benn get all the hype....and deservedly so.....but Decker is as solid as they come...

Everyone knows how good Ndamukong Suh is.....and how big Terrance Cody is.....but I think Dan Williams (Tennessee) is going to be mentioned as a 1st round possibility as well by the middle of this season...

Jahvid Best and C.J. Spiller are two running backs that I would love to see in Miami as complements to Ronnie.....

Nice Follow up. I think we look at Outside Linebacker and Nose Tackle Early. Suh is the guy I want but we are going to have to suck this season to get him.

My favorites would be...

Berry
Suh
Mays
Griffen
Spikes
Cody
Bryant
Hardy
Hughes
McClain

I don't think you can really go wrong with them.

I don't believe in trading up but I would for Suh. The Dolphins need an elite precense on the DL.

I could definitely see Suh bulking up about 10-20 pounds and being the Dolphins NT for the next 14 years.

after watching out safeties in coverage i wanna trade up for eric berry.

As I mentioned....I could tell by watching Jimmy Clausen in the Sheraton Bowl that he was ready to turn the corner in his development....cut down on trying to force the ball....and stop turning it over via INT....even though the production was already there in the form of TD passes...

Well here's what he's accomplished so far in his last 4 games going back to the 49-21 win over Hawaii last year....

He's thrown a TOTAL of 33 incomplete passes in his last 4 games...with what I've counted as 8 drops by receivers...

A total of 1,352 yards.....14 touchdown passes....and 0 interceptions....in his last 4 games....

But like I always say....throw stats out the window when evaluating a quarterback....

He's 6-3, 223 pounds.....see's the entire field better than Colt McCoy....and as good as Bradford IMO....

He's possesses arm strength comparable to Jevon Snead....who some may consider the best junior QB prospect.....Clausen makes better decisions than Snead at this point....Snead was REALLY struggling with his reads against Memphis...

Clausen's release is extremely, extremely, quick....and clean....the ball finds it's target in a hurry with pinpoint precision....his footwork has improved dramatically under Charlie Wiess...

When Notre Dame's offensive line stopped setting school records for sacks given up......Clausen flourished...

He processes information very quickly....leads in the huddle...and he's the only thing that keeps that defense that can't hold anybody under 30 points in games....

Whats the point? What am I trying to say? lol

I'm saying if he declares early....Miami needs to find a way to get him in a Dolphin uniform....because I believe he's going to be better in the NFL than any of them....

His upside is significant....

When I watch Jimmy Clausen, I kind of hope that he stays till his senior year, just to see if we have something in Henne. If Henne fails and Clausen is there...then it becomes evident who we should get.

However, I want a proper evaluation of Chad Henne first.

I like Hiller, but I'm not quite ready to put him that high, and it seems his Mac brother, Dan LeFevour is not getting much love from you. LeFevour has great athletic ability, size, and arm strength. He'll go before Hiller IMHO.

Herzlich reminds me of AJ Hawk, in that both have good, not great athleticism, and might be getting more press than they deserve. Herzlich is a solid LB in the mold of a Posluzny. Definitely not a top-5 player for me even before the illness.

I also think you have Buluga too high on your list...his feet are not LT feet, and he'll move to RT most likely. Talented player from a school that produces linemen, but he'll drop out of the top-10 IMO.

Sam Young could shoot up the draft boards if he plays with better leverage and shows more strength.

I say Spikes or McClain will end up being the pick. Berry if possible would be amazing, but I seriously doubt that we go NT early. Parcells traditionally takes NTs much later and develops them over time, i.e. Ferguson, Jay Ratliff, and hopefully Paul Soliai. I have to admit that Clausen does intrigue me and I will have to pay more attention to him over the season.

If Berry truely has Reed like skills then you do anything and everything to get him.We couldn't get a bigger play maker on defense that would make such an impact.
