1. Swagger - This is something that has been lacking for quite some time. The intensity is just not there on game day. Everyone's looking indifferent, lost, heads hanging, or no emotion at all. You just don't see that from the best teams. We need to hit people in the mouth, intensity, an identity. This team has none of that. I keep hearing that the 'trifecta' wants to instill this smashmouth philosophy, but something sure has gotten lost in between the players and the front office.

2. Field General - What does every elite team have? Colts, Indy, NE, etc... A big time QB. You either have it or you don't, and right now we are severely lacking that. We've seen the big pass play once this season, on blown coverage. Objectively, I think Henne has a very good arm, but he misses far too much. Accuracy, vision, pocket presence, composure, the ability to make a big play consistently... We've been missing that since #13 was behind center, obviously. IMO, picking Long over Ryan is a defining moment for this 'trifecta'. Henne hasn't shown half the ability Ryan has, albeit with a weak supporting cast but not showing us that he can be a leader like Ryan or have natural pocket awareness (stepping into sacks, failing to throw the ball away), and then the pick 6's. His erratic passing leaves a lot to be desired, and that's not something you teach.

3. Game planning and coaching - This team has been outcoached for a majority of this season, and most evidently in big games. This team has failed in such a big way to beat any contenders. Team has lost to ARI, BAL (twice), NE (w/Brady), ATL, INDY, and NO under the 'trifecta's' watch. So we can beat all the mediocre/average teams, but elite football teams aren't built solely to win the easy ones. Simply put, this team has failed tremendously to beat teams in the upper echelon. Obviously talent is a big reason why, but it's inexcusable to lose every game to the elite teams, not to mention blow leads (some big) against many of these teams. This comes down to the coaching staff being outcoached consistently against the top teams, and the inability to adjust and adapt to tough situations.

I've seen Jimmy, Shula, Wanny, Saban, Cam... and now Sparano and IMO we're seeing the same formulas under Sparano that we saw under many of the previous coaches. Win the easy ones, lose the tough ones, and fail to outcoach and outplay teams for 60 minutes. We've been seeing this team blow leads, fail to hold leads, and shoot themselves in the foot for years and years. Changing this will be a huge step going forward for this franchise, and I'm not convinced this trifecta will get it done.

Just keep this in mind. It took about 5 years for Manning to start really doing what he does today. It took Brady a couple years just to get his shot.

Henne is just getting started. He has a lot to learn, but then again, so does Matt Ryan. Just because you have a good year does not mean that you are at a point of doing what Manning and Brady do all the time. Not many could do what Marino could. It takes time.

I do agree with the swagger. I have noticed this teams pension for looking lost and not very pumped up. The Jets home game and Indy were the only games where I saw the real potential of this Oline and running game ect.

We have plenty of swagger. I mean chowder and porter show their swagger through the media routinely. The problem here is that they have to be the laughing stock of their NFL peers. Personally, it is old. I am old school. Put up or really stfu. I put as much faith in Porter/Crowder as I do Jamarcus Russell actually winning a superbowl.

What about talent? If we had more talent we would have more swagger.

I have a hard time blaming a coaching staff or front office when they take a team from 1-15 to 11-5 regardless of schedule strength. We did beat NE and have played some damn good teams tough with a young inexpierinced group. It is still early in the process. IMHO

Swagger doesn't win squat!!! Talent and making plays win games. I could care less about swagger.

This post is ridiculous.... I mean if a few plays were made this season, particularly in the Indy game and possibly the Saints game, catches in particular, with everything else remaining the same were quite possibly a 5-3 football team right now, and we'd have "swagger", "a big time up and coming QB" and "smart coaching".... get a clue or some realist perspective

I actually strongly disagree with alot of what you say. You have a right to your opinion no doubt but are you watching the games? This team has swaggar. Its there...they play hard and play with passion. If you don't see that, then you must be watching the Chiefs, Raiders, Rams, etc instead.

As far as Henne goes...other players in interviews have said they like Hennes demeanor in the huddle. You can go to miamidolphins.com and watch player interviews all week long and you'll get sound bites here and there about it. BTW, I hope you realize that this was Hennes 5th start. NO ONE was talking about Brady being a great field general early on either. You have to earn it...which comes with winning. He needs more time before you can say he's missing a certain 'leader' or 'field general' quality.

What about talent? If we had more talent we would have more swagger.

Certainly, and the 'trifecta' is responsible for a lot of that. This team could've easily signed T.J. Houshmanzedah or Coles. They seriously thought that it was okay to place Ginn, Camarillo, and Bess out there on gameday. Pathetic job.

EDIT: And here come the blind homers. I must be 'watching a different team'. Hey gfish, IF was the key word in your post. Facts are facts and I'm sure it's hard to understand for people who refuse to realistically look at this football team. "Possibly a 5-3 football team", yeah that's great.

I'd also like to note that these types of threads are purely reactionary to the result of individual games, particularly tough or frustrating losses. I feel like every game we lose this SAME thread pops up. Yet when we win...everyone talks about how the tri-fecta is getting it all right. I know everyone is free to post what they wish...but I find these posts to be among the MOST freakin annoying.

It also helps to have some luck and for the refs to get off of our jocks.

I am not bashing here, but what does Henne's demeanor in the huddle have to do with anything? I guarantee no body liked Marino's demeanor in the huddle because more then likely he was chewing their ***! My only complaint about Henne is so far under pressure he is starting to narrow his vision. It shows defenses are getting more aggressive and taking chances because he tends to look to his right a lot. Hopefully he grows out of it, but our OC calls a lot of plays that hurt Henne more then they help!

And then you'd be assuming and generalizing my thread. I'm not the reactionary, emotional type.

Facts are facts. I've seen your posts and you're simply looking at this team through rose-colored glasses. You can feel how you want, but we're all fans here. It's annoying to read the blind homer posts too.

Apologize for calling it like it is. "Should be 5-3", "If this guy makes this play", all that crap means absolutely nothing.

Well, the original post was calling Henne out about not looking/acting like a leader or whatever. So I pointed out that he's not a statue who doesn't show emotion. Not every great QB is the greatest leader of all time. I think thats too much of a generalization.

I'm actually not a rose-colored glasses guy. If you saw me before, during and after games you'd know I yell and complain like everyone else throughout. But I can cool down and not overreact hours after the game like many here do.

Maybe it wasn't fair to call you over-reactionary as it was equally unfair for you to assume I'm one of those 'never sees anything wrong' homer types. I'm not gonna call the franchise an embarrassment after todays game like quite a few did even though I'm disappointed we lost. I really do disagree with your assessment on point #1 though. Not sure how facts support that unless you're saying a loss = no emotion.
