There are lot of scenarios out there for the Dolphins and I thought I would add my two cents:

QB
We are not getting Manning. Let it go.
Flynn is the option:
- He has been in Philin sytem for three years.
- He was winner in College and when given the opportunity in the NFL, even though it was two games he performed well.
- He is not a game changer like the Elite QB, but he can be Matt Schaub.
Let's face it we are not getting a a Franchise QB through FA(Manning) or the draft.
We can get a QB that knows the system and can perform at top 15 or better level.

WR
I did not like looking Marshall, let's face it he was the only game changer on that offense. But it was the right move for the organization, for his character and he did not fit the offensive system.
The FA market for WR has preety much dried up. But if history tell us anything, sigining high priced WR through FA has not been very successful.
My hope is that they either get lucky or trade up for Blackmon from OSU. He would be the game changer we need.

RT
I think they are going sign one through RT. I do not think it will be flashy.

Pass Rusher
This is the position that there are not good answers. The best option is the draft, but is there any one that stand out. The only one who is not flashy but is a football player is Ingram. As far as FA there no out there that is worth getting, and Williams is out of our league price wise.

Saftey
Get Reggie Nelson.

With all being said, we most likely will be what we have been an average to a above average team. Unless one of the players we pick up becomes a lot more than expected.

1-15 thats the plan. this team blows, and i bet philbin will too. ****ing old bastard.

This....2 losing seasons and we will start over again. With a new rebuilding plan for whoever it is.

I think the dolphins tipped their hand by trading B marsh. I'm feeling a trade down and they'll be looking at Melvin ingram, Nick perry, Michael floyd and kendall wright. On top of that they get a secound round pick. They'll be adding draft picks on draft day for sure.
First three picks:pASS RUSH and WR (hopefully we have a QB by then likely Flynn)

RT will be addressed with in-house options and proper coaching and Dolphins got their FS in Marshall (other options available Jones, clemons) but no Free agents on their way

We are in rebuilding mode ONCE again. Lets draft Tannehill at 8, sign Manningham, draft or sign an OL, a TE, and a passrusher..

then try to fill the rest of our holes next year.

I was looking at potential receivers in the draft, Ryan Broyles, DeVier Posey, Marvin McNutt, Michael Floyd, and Nick Toon are just a few of the names that I found fascinating, and would help. Whatever they do, please do not start the season with Brian Hartline as the only option.

My plan would be cut bell, fasano, chris clemons and probably mcdaniels. that should save us around $10-12 mil. All guys that could be replaced.

Restructure Long, dansby, carpenter (2 mil for a kicker ?!?!) and/or starks and save us another 4-6 mil. I know we cant restructure all of them but 2 out of the four could be done.

Sign: Winston, and flynn.
Draft: If possible trade down (unless blackmon is there at 8... highly unlikely) and try to pick up an additional 2nd and 5th. Draft with the first 5 pick ( 1 late 1st, 2 second and 2 3rds) two WRS ( floyd or hill in the first round and then someone else with a third) a TE like allen or fleener in the second, a Pass rusher with a second, and a safety or other DB with a thrid.
I think that will help fill some major holes with hopefully decent to good starting talent for a while. I was thinking of trading down in the draft and sending our late 1st for wallace but we wouldnt have the money to sign him to a long term deal.

Our starting line ups would be.
QB: flynn, moore
RB: Bush, thomas
FB: Whoever.
WR: Rookie (1st rounder), Hartline, Bess, Gates and Rookie (3rd rounder)
TE: Allen/Fleener, Clay
Oline: Long, richie, pouncy, Jerry or gardner, Winston.

Dline: Odrick, Starks, Solia, Wake.... Merling and 2nd rounder rotating.
LB: Dansby, Burrnet and Misi.
CB: Vonte, smith, Marshall, wilson and carrol.
FS: Marshall or Rookie
SS Jones.
( i used Marshall twice cuz im not sure where we are going to play him)
Not a great line up but a young team that might just need good coaching and a year to gel and we could surprise alot of people. Im not saying we are going to make the playoff but i could see 7-8 wins from a team like this. Maybe more if flynn is the real deal. Lets face it if he bust we could win 3-4 games, if he shines we could win 9-10 games. It all rest on the QB shoulders. I think a D like this will still be top 12 in the league.

Its a realistic offseason. Didnt want to do one of these Mario william and manningham and flynn and trade for wallace things.

What do you guys think??? the good and the bad !!

If this team is rebuilding again, do it all the way or don't do it at all.

Trade every player with more than 3 years of NFL experience for draft picks and sign UDFAs to fill the gaps.

Half-assing a rebuild just prolongs the pain and puts you into situations where your better players today either retire or move on to another team via free agency before all the pieces come together.

The pieces need to come together at the same time, and if it takes 3 more years to develop the talent your grabbing now, your losing the players that your attempting to build around, keeping you in the same viscious cycle ad infinitum.

Yes, this means losing guys we don't want to. Jake Long, Devone Bess, Yeremiah Bell, Kevin Burrnett, Karlos Dansby, Reggie Bush, Dan Carpenter, Anthony Fasano, Matt Moore, etc....

If we are indeed rebuilding yet again, we are doing a disservice, not only to the fans, but also to the players by stringing them (and us) along.

Cold-turkey or don't do it at all. (unfortunately the Marshall trade has already set us in motion for a half-assed rebuild yet again.)
