So before the season started, i sat down and thought alot about this 2008 miami dolphins team.....i knew we were going to be looking at a significant improvement following last years embarrassment all around.....but even with this new regime, quarter back, and new bright overall outlook on the season, i could only come up with a best case scenario of 6-10.....:(:(.....so to put things in perspective here, and realize that we are 8-5 with 3 winnable games remaining i cant help but be the happiest/proudest fins fan in the country! :woot:.......so i would love to hear from my fellow fins fans out there on whaat your, NON-BIASED, realistic preseason thoughts were...but lets keep on enjoying this miracle season and get back in those luminous playoffs!!! ALRIGHT MIAMIIIIIII!!!!! give em hell tomorrow fellas, ill be out there tailgating at 9:30! :beer1:

I always am a little more hopeful than most and thought the dolphins would go 7-9. So, whatever they do from here exceeds my expectations. Just enjoying the season, and hoping this regime continues what they are doing.

I was hoping for a 8-8 season and was expecting a 7-9 or 6-10 season but now this situation is totally great and unexpected and we should all enjoy it whether we make the playoffs or not..

I was part of the group of people that said why not 10-6? I jumped on and off the buss a few times but ever since that NE game (the first time around) I was on it consistently (maybe I considered going against it after the NE game (second time around)). That Cards game really blew the air out of my sails but we rebounded and never stopped fighting!

We frigging rock! Go Phins! (If we win the AFC East, is 5th seed the highest we can get?)

As I've said multiple times, I did not expect nearly this good. I could not be happier, though the Pats loss I think is more indicitive of where we are as a team than the record in general. That said' I'm very pleased.

If we win the east we will prly be 3rd seed above the broncos

Thank you for answering my question! Would that mean we get home field advantage?

If so, I have already been talking about buying a plane ticket with my 2nd paycheck ever to fly down to florida to see a Dolphins playoff game at home! Also my grandpa has connections with a guy who owns a sky box at Dolphins stadium!

It may take my entire check but boy would it be worth it!

I think I voted (in a Finheaven poll) that we would have either a 4 or 5 win season at best. Of course I was always hopeful that I would be surprised with more. Guess what? I'm surprised! :)

It's great what Parcells and Co. have come in and done with this team. I expect great things in the near future for our Phins.

I was thinking 4-12.

Reason for that was because looking at our WR's then, we did'nt even have a legit number 1. Bess and Camarillo really came out of no-where and I never expected as much production as we have gotten from them. The secondary also looked awful, but Bell has done great and Goodman has stepped up. At the LB position I never expected the re-emergence of Porter. I actually though we would generate very little pass rush. Running backs always looked good but Ronnie was coming off an ACL injury and Ricky was about to play his first full season in years, so I was expecting them to run down as the year progressed. On O-Line before the injuries I never expected Thomas and to a certain extent Long to be as productive. I taught the O-Line would take a season to gel.

Looking at those expectations from the start of the year, you really have to give it to the entire coaching staff and the players for getting the Fins to where they are now. I never expected Miami to be battling for the playoffs with 3 games left. Fantastic effort from everyone invovled with the team.

I will admit I was the naysayer. I even got suspended for being so negative. At the time I was thinking this team has let me down so much what could possibly make me think this team had a snowball chance in hell of being a .500. I predicted a 2-14 team and no sniff of the playoffs for at least 4 years. Well I was WRONG. Glad to admit that. Whatever plays out the rest of the season is fine by me. The new feeling about this team and the long term have reaffirmed why I have been a fan since 1970.
