He scares me... I'm not too worried as most of you guys are about Matt Ryan and the passing game. I think Roddy White has the potential to play very well and Gonzo will get his catches albeit in a less spectacular role than in years past (Falcons want to use him in more of a blocking role, so I've read) but in the end, I think this game will be one and lost in the trenches. Can the Dolphins CONTAIN Michael Turner?! He will get his yards but can the Dolphins not allow him to turn the corner, or break through the linebackers for a big gain.. Matt Roth will be missed but in the end I think the Fins can do it..and it might be from an unlikely source... Our safeties. We have arguably TWO of the best safeties when it comes to run support in the NFL. These safeties in Bell and Wilson will protect the Fins D from allowing Turner to break free for the "big one".

Michael Turner's final stats - 25 rushes for 112 yards and a TD.. Nice stats for a RB but not enough as Pennington will light it up against one of the most horrible secondaries I have ever seen. Not to metion, when we do run the ball, our very expensive Oline is something like, I dont know, 60 to 80 pounds heavier than their Dline.

Some other interesting things to watch..
1)Jake Long vs. John Abraham- Big knock on Long, he cant pass block against speed rushers. Abraham is almost as good as it gets
2)Sean Smith vs. Mchael Jenkins - Smith's first big test.. a tall, speedy receiver

25 carries 85 yards and 1 td.

I do agree our safeties will be up in run support a lot. But that leaves our corners one on one with Atlanta's zippy receivers. White and Jenkins both average around 15.5 yds/rec. Allen, Smith, and Davis will have their hands full.

Not to mention whoever is covering Gonzo is going to be regularly schooled. He always takes it to another level vs. the Phins.

The D-line and backers need to get it done to stop Turner. If we have to start using safeties heavily in run support it's going to be a long long day for the secondary. This game, almost more than any other, has the potential to really make us miss Roth.

i think we stuff turner, hold him under 60 yards since i think atlanta will be playing catch up. i cant see him being a big factor in this game since it is obvious he is they key to their offense. hopefully he sees 8 and 9 man fronts and we dare ryan to beat us.

I cannot fathom a guess. If the following happen, I would not be surprised to hold him to 65 yds:

1. Crowder does not freelance.
2. Wilson and Bell give solid run support.
3. Team tackling is better than we saw during the last 4 practice games.

If we fail with even one of the items in the list, then he will break 100 yds.

I think the game is won if we get our special teams together. Everything else matches up pretty well between us and them.

We usually hold the big bad backs to less than their normal averages. Because we have to. I say 20-25 carries for 75-90 yds and a td

Channing comes up the middle and hits him for a one yard loss, knocking him out of the game. PHINS WIN! :hump:
