Teams have pretty much figured out how to exploit the team after it's fast start. They will continue to exploit these holes all season. What holes are these? Well last year we couldn't run nor stop the run. This year we can't pass nor stop the pass and our running defense is only somewhat improved (average at best).
Saban's a good coach but this team just has to many holes to fill. Just as a priority this team is in severe need of a QB upgrade, OL upgrade (with our record though (I'm estimating 5-11) were going to be in PRIME position to get one of the premier offensive tackles in the draft (there are 4 in there that are better then anyone who was drafted in the first round this past year). I don't believe we will be in a position for one of the top QB's and this team should not stretch at this position to grab one of the middle to late 1st round QB's if there are any that fit that bill.
Beyond that we are also in dire need of an upgrade at DT and in the Secondary but this isn't as huge a need as QB/OL simply because we got some youth potential with Wright/Vickerson at DT and Poole should be coming back in the secondary. However both positions could use a solid above average player at their position to help fill out the depth/competition at those spots.
So even before looking at other positions draft wise were probably looking at one of the premier tackles with our first pick (I know it will be unpopular but you don't pass up on a possible Ogden/Pace/Jones type player) and then bite the bullet with our 2nd round pick and move up and try to snag a dropping QB in the first round.
Then look to FA to try and fill our DT/Secondary needs. Rest of the draft (with the picks that aren't traded in moving up with the 2nd round pick) can be looked at as OL with day 2 draft picks (try to give Houck as many bodies as possible). DE (Bowens hasn't played well and were not sure what we got with Roth and Kevin Carter isn't getting any younger) is also another position to look at in the draft if we have a 3rd/4th round pick (never know how many picks it will take to move up however I believe our 3rd that year and a 3rd/4th the following would get the job done). Safety is also a position we can throw another body at but I think the team will try to get something done with Lance Shulters but I have a feeling we will be looking for a SS still. Either that or they will move Lance back to SS but that still leaves a FS need.
