The loss of Ronnie Brown obviously hurt BUT just as the Dolphins continuously (sp?) do, they will EVOLVE! Reasons for optimism...

-Henne has shown he can move the offense
-for essentially being a rookie and with the lack of talent around him, Henne has done a marvelous job (I did not like Henne coming out of college). He seems to get in a rhythm and seems to get better under pressure which is awesome to have (check big times game- Monday night Jets game, Huge fight against the Saints, game winning drive vs Bucs)! Might have that "it" factor!
-We will get to see Lex Hilliard play more..Im a little confused about something
-One huge problem I have always had with Ronnie Brown is his lack of breakaway speed. Hes a big power back but never seems to break "the big one". His college 40 was in the high 4.40s.
Lex Hilliard who seemed fast, really fast and quick in the limited action we saw him in ran in the high 4.60s. To me though, Hilliard looks to have that breakaway speed Ronnie lacks. Check highlights (I understand he was going against DII guys in college and 3rd stringers in preseason)
-Biggest reason for optimism...RICKY WILLIAMS
Okay I get it, hes 32, not in his prime anymore and we shouldnt expect 2001 numbers.. got it... BUT! This will be by far the BEST Oline Ricky will ever run behind and we have already seen him run for 2 100 yard games despite getting about 40% of the hand offs. (ratio is something like 58/42 in favor of Ronnie). And we all know Ricky gets better as the game gets into the 3rd and 4th quarter. Despite his age, Ricky has that breakaway speed, maybe not like before, but he'll break some big gains, that unfortunately Ronnie just cant do. Then again, Ricky wont pop a safety like Ronnie would LOL but I truly feel that Ricky is an UPGRADE over Ronnie and to be honest Im a huge Ronnie Brown fan so its weird saying that. Ronnie is a good back but I feel Ricky has the potential, once again, despite his age, to (still) be one of the best in the league. His biggest strength is Ronnies biggest weakness, VISION.. In traditional offensive sets, this Oline WILL open holes, sometimes they may not be pretty but the holes Ronnie couldnt find, Ricky will amaze us all.

Love the optimism, but I think you're underestimating Ronnie's vision. That ability is what makes him so effective as the trigger man in wildcat. There is a reason no one else in the league has been able to establish the type of success the Phins have had with that specific formation, and IMO, that is a major contributing factor.

I don't think anything good can come out of your best offensive player being out for season. I truly think this spells the end for the 2009 season. Hate to be a doom and gloomer, but teams will focus more on Henne now which IMO will lead to a rough couple of weeks for him, especially with our lousy recievers. I could be wrong though, I definately have been wrong many times before.

There are reasons to be down after the injury news, but this team will still be competing in all if not most of the remaining games.

You aren't wrong this time, pal.

I don't even care about this season as much as I care about Ronnie healing and returning to our team next year. If Ronnie & the Wildcat are gone, I won't know what to do with myself.

Great points and love the optimism. Problem is I dont think Henne will have a chance because of Crotchety Ol' Dan Henning scaling back the offense in fear of turnovers.
