Kailua, Hi
Here is the reason why we had so flags - during the last two weeks he has mentioned bad officiating and inconsistancies which he is totally right but the refs weren't happy about so they were going to show Saban to keep his mouth closed.

Funny thing I was so sick after this came I watched the Longest Yard on DVD last night and liked when sandler threw ball in the the refs private twice and then went up to him and said now call a fair game.

I think the were very quick in throwing flags at Maimi and very timid at throwing against Buffalo - no flag on ripping the helmet off of Morris - come on.

Once on replay the showed a bearhug hold - no call on buffalo

1 or 2, i can understand the refs being homers, but 18? You dont have 18 mistaken flags.

You could be right and that would be the only way you could blame all the flags on Saban. I hate the Zebra's though seems like they never call a fair game.

If that's the case then the refs should be fined. They're supposed to be unbiased. I know we had our fair share of obvious penalties but some were a little ridiculous.

Well, I watched the game on TV, and we did go offsides and make the pens!! Saban didn't make the @$$ sucker punch Bills after a kickoff either. We made them, plane and simple.

Look, some of those calls are questionable, and when you're on the road, the home team is going to get those calls / non-calls. HOWEVER, crap like offisdes, and false start ... that isn't bias, that's just stupidity on our part.

I am not saying ALL off them - the thing you have to look at is consitancy - why do they call one thing and not the other. Why call for taunting when you do not call for ripping someone helmet off- Holding calls - grabing Taylor's Face mask against the left tackle a no call - Bear Hug a no call -

If Maimi sneezed out came the hanky very quickly- calls against buffalo the refs took a long time getting that hanky out of their pockets-

It's a simple fact that Saban is a new coach and the players aren't buying into him just yet. He seems like more bark than bite and the players are pushing the limit.
18 penalties is unexcusable. Very undisciplined team. That's lil Nicky's fault.

Saban is at Fault - Balance between intensity and Intelligence Needed

Coach Saban is at fault. He is trying to bring our team to another level. He has brought a new football philosophy to the Miami Dolphins, The Relentless Pursuit of Excellence.

This type of football philosophy is effective when you have a balance between intensity and intelligence. Our team has accepted and showed the increase in intensity. The next step is to balance the intensity with intelligence. The balance will take some time to master. Our players are being asked to be intense and relentless, but controlled within the rules of the game.

In practice, Miami has mastered the balance. The pressure of the real game, however, has caused the team to lose the balance and make costly mistakes.

Saban said he can't understand what happens to the Dolphins between practice time and game time.

But that's easy, isn't it?

It's the difference between pretend and real . . . the difference between taking solace in his team's "competitive spirit" and celebrating actual success . . . the difference between  ready, Nick?  no consequence and W-L consequence.

Until we master a balance between intensity and intelligence, we can expect more penalties. When the players finally master the balance, watch out! We will be a feared and respected football team that wins games!

No kidding. Everyone in the zoo needs to calm down a little bit.

Who is the other coach in the NFL that has critized the NFL ref ? He even said I do not care if they fine me. Here is your clue he got 20 flags yesterday-

What I am saying is there is a relationship here - you open your mouth against the refs they will be flag happy-

Shut up and play - I think they will called even-

It is not an easy Job - granted- but when you go after them they are not going to be rooting for you. Anything that is questionable is going against you.

I think this is what happened yesterday.

Were you talkin about the hold on Howard that was not called but obvious on a replay before commercials?

I still would like to know about consistency. If you are going to call McMike for taunting then how the heck did Steve Smith not get called for his lay down pose in the end zone last game. To me that was taunting also.

you need to remember that this was an 8-8 team that will totally exceed expectations. Switching coaches never makes a difference over the course of 4 games, and usually not in a year. Different systems etc.

The only coach I know of who won a superbowl after changing teams was Jon Gruden and the squad he took over was 99% there already and had been to the NFC Championship the year before.

You point to one coach that took over a 4-12 team that went to the superbowl?

As a matter of fact I think that saban's team is doing a fantastic job and here is why. Notice that in the 2nd half of all of the games thus far we've been playing much better than the 1st half. Because they are able to adapt and switch game plans quickly. Thats where the coaches earn their money.

The only flaw in the coaching I saw this week was that the opening scripted plays were primarily passing. I know that buffalo was lining up with 8 or 9 in the box and thats why they threw in the beginning, but they should have worked on the running game earlier and just pushed it down their throat. Now that ricky is back we dont have to worry as much about injuries and another option we have is power football, 3yds and a cloud of dust.

Saban is doing as good a job as anyone in the NFL. Plus who would you rather have than him? Even Parcells has been taking heat for having a 2-2 team until this week. Next week when they lose again the dissent will come back
