I know a lot of people on this board think the position with the most talent on this team is receiver. I will admit, I think our receivers are overrated by us. I know, I know. most of you will say "if we had a QB" or a line to give them time to throw. I am starting to think some of the blame needs to be laid at the feet of this group. McMichael has had problems holding onto the ball for years. If you look back at his time here, the game in Pitts. wasn't the only time he's had problems with this aspect of his game. Booker is slow, he gets no seperation and is totally eliminated on any blitz package because the DB's are all over him. Orande was slow too but he caught everything thrown his way.
Chambers, to date has not shown he is a top flight NFL no 1 receiver. Every year we say the same thing. This is his breakout year! I need to see it to believe it. As far as Boston goes. With his injuries and assorted other problems. it's a wait and see deal.

Feel better?

I love the optimism on this board!!

I was wondering how long into today's showing of the Pittsburgh game we'd get a negative post. 25 minutes? I guess it's a slow day.

this really has nothing to do with the pittsburgh game... just thinking ....

also figured it was time to give the QB arguement a rest and the O-line a break...

I think given the opportunity, our receivers can make plays. That requires:

A. Good pass protection.
B. A running game that needs to be respected.
C. A QB with a clue.

The jury is out on all 3.

So you wanted to spread some negativity by questioning our receivers now? Our receivers are one of our deepest and brightest spots on this team.

i dont think they are overrated, atleast not by most football fans and NFL people (on TV). they dont think your WRs are great. and i think they are right.

but i do think fin fans overrate them. (though i think chambers is very good).

Nah, i'm not one of those...our second teamers are worth 2nd round picks...

I still think receivers have to help out. I don't know if this group gets open enough and seperates from the DB's.

Just asking a question and seeing what everyone thinks... you disagree... that's cool. I happen to think they have flaws that are overshadowed by our QB and line play.

I cant argue they have some flaws. McMichael has dropped alot of balls recently. Booker is not a burner, but isnt SLOW. Hes a heck of alot faster than Gadsen ever was. You really cant compare the two when they had different Qbs with different O-lines in different systems and have different strengths. Chambers hasnt broke out yet, but its funny that only the negative fans doubt him, try finding a coach or player in this league that does. I cant see how our receivers as a unit should assume alot of the blame in our failures on offense.

Ok..now Im confused. See my face? How do you know that? What flaws are you seeing? Only way we'd be able to see that is that if we knew the play called and the route they were supposed to run. I think the fact that our WR's can be great is overshadowed by the QB's and the OL.

Please elaborate so I can this look off my face.
