we got chambers booker ginn and hagan who do you think will make the 5th spot

P.K. Sam
Kelly Campbell
Az-Zahir Hakim
Kerry Reed
David Sutton
Michael Malone

i would like to see P.K Sam make it

if healthy campell will make the team mybe ever sutton cause of his size we need a big reciver like him.

My money is on Az Hakim. They guy provides not only a speedy 5th receiver, but a semi-dangerous return man should anything happen to Ginn.

Kelly Campbell. His speed has impressed Cam Cameron and he is willing to do kickoff returns.

David Sutton is an intriguing prospect but I think he has a lot to learn and could end up on the practice squad for some seasoning.

One of the first 3 for sure. I thought campbell would make it last year and he didnt, and Az Hakim is a little older. As for P.K. Sam, he seems to be playing well in Europe, he's younger and hes got some decent height at 6'3". So i'm going with him right now.

After looking at the top three on your list, we're actually in good shape at receiver. This offense is starting to look pretty good on paper. If Cam can do his thing, we'll be a tough team to beat!

i think ur rite about all that but i think campbell will make it, just becuz he is younger

PK Sam has the size we lack and if he can translate his successes in NFLE to NFL, he should be the one on the roster. I think we're set at PR/KR with Ginn, maybe Booker, Chatman, and Chambers on an emergency or need basis. What we need is a big WR target outside of our TE's the way Vincent Jackson was for the Chargers. The Pats learned the hard way the difficulties of having all their WR's under 6'1 which caused them to get Washington and Moss. Sam, Sutton, and Malone can fit the bill here. Sutton and Malone I would imagine seeing on the PS.

But if Mueller and Cameron feel our PR/KR aren't good enough or they keep getting hard-ons for speed, they'll keep going to Campbell who hasn't caught a pass or returned anything since 2005 or Hakim who is no longer a good returner and suffers from a bad case of fumblitis. If so, they really should keep Sutton around on the practice squad.

If I had to really break it down.

Sutton is out unless he does something amazing and unheard of in preseason. He doesn't return kicks or do anything else that stands out enough to justify the fifth receiver spot where your actual receiving skills are almost never used.

Campbell has been injured a lot, but he is definitely a deep threat. In 03 and 04 respectively he averaged 20.9 and 19.2 yards per catch on a total of 44 receptions. He also returns kicks in a pinch.

Sam has great size at 6'3 and he played very well over there in Europe. That success might not translate, but he at least has a shot in preseason to do his thing.

Hakim used to be a key part of the greatest show on turf, his speed was electric and his hands were decent at the least. He can return punts/kicks in a pinch, but unlike Campbell it seems his best days are behind him. The last three seasons his yard per catch average has dropped from 17.2 to 14.4 all the way down to 8.6.

I can't say I know much about Reed....but he seems like a long shot at best and the same goes with Malone.

If I had to rank them in order by best chance:

1) Campbell - Speed, Return man, Deep threat.
2) Sam - Size, Played well in Europe
3) Hakim - Speed, Veteran, Return man
4) Sutton - Has promise for the future...just doesnt provide anything this season.
5) Reed/Malone - Long shots.
