Great coach for the Celtics. He will be missed.

R.I.P

One of the greatest basketball coaches and evaluators of talent ever. Period.

It's a sad day in the basketball world.

Red was the greatest basketball coach of all-time. He was the architect of the most storied franchise in the sport.

He will be missed immensely by the Celtics organization and it's fans.

the guy was a visionary

he knew what it took to win games

he knew talent and knew great moves

he will be sorely missed

Not only a great coach but a great person. One of the first coaches in sports to recognize talent and not skin color during a time of immense racism and segregation in the world. He ran the 2nd most storied franchise in sports history (sorry, the a Yankees are number 1)!

You hit it right on the head.I agree on all accounts.Very well said, man.

He was arguabley the greatest coach in NBA history. He was probably the main piece of the greatest dynasty in sports history. He was a great coach, a true legend and he will be missed.

Though i cant believe he lived that long anyway, with all the victory cigars he smoked.

Yeah, you can't really make that particular claim without adding Real Madrid, Manchester United or AC Milán into the discussion. So why don't we better leave it at the 2nd most storied franchise in American sports history.

And sad to see him go.
