Im watching the san diego game now and considering our game yesterday and the Ravens game something stinks! The NFL had better do something about these ref's taking over the game. It is wrong and it's hurting the integrity of the game. There is no way that we got 18 legitimate penalties and the Ravens got 21. "Your thoughts"

well the reffs are at it again

i am watching the steelers/ chargers game and reffs have thrown more flags than what brees has footballs. the bolts have 13 penalties for 80 yards. maybe the dolphins should ask one of the officals to try out for qb then we can save wome money and get another wide receiver and cb .

hey mods i goofed up can you delete this thread ? i didnt see the other thread . i am sorry.

oh crap i just started another thread on this subject. but i agre with you dude. dont the bolts have like 80 yards in penalties?:shakeno:

they are just calling what the nfl is telling to do. they make more and more rules every year.

Yeah, they want the steelers to win.

I'm telling you the ref's have an agenda.

The NFL needs ratings and they get them by creating soap operas that don't exist with blow outs or overbaringly strong teams. The penalties very very much seem to be being used to keep games close as well as keep overall win and loss records close to create drama in the league.

anyone see the call on hines ward saying he was down ? that was bologna

I saw that play and i wished that the steelers would have kicked the feild goal quicker anywas i saw that pass that through to gates and it was picked of and the charges got hit with a 15 penalty for unsportsman like conduct. man they are getting hit with the 15 yrd variety and those are the penalties that will kill you.

Has to be consistent with each team. Just like major league pitching. The strike zone has to be the same for both teams.

Thats the way it is.
The league gets it rules from the competion committe.
The CC gets its rules from the owners.
Thats the way it works.

Stop blaming the referees, thier just doing what the league is telling them.

No that is not true. No one is going to believe me, but some players do get treated better than others. It may not be right in the minds of fans, but thats the way it is.

If the players stop committing penalties, the refs will stop flagging them.

I do agree that some are borderline, and even sometimes they are incorrect calls, but the majority of the time the flags are called for.

All this "holding" is getting out of control. I didn't realize if your ****ing arm happens to be on a guy for a second that's holding. It's one thing if you tug/grab him, but for crying out loud the O already has an advantage at knowing the play so you are going to tell me that by having your hand PLACED on someones back or just happened to graze a guys stomach is holding? It's getting bad bad bad.

refs are calling little bitty things....and they need to let them play football IMO....

Unless someone actually runs into you after 5 yards, tackles you, actually HOLDS you, or bringing someones arms down before the ball is there, then you call call it. I think defenders should beable to place their hand on the back (without pushing). If you can't catch a ball with a defender doing that then maybe you shouldn't be a WR. Holding is way to timid in this league and it's very costly. If they wanna keep calling it they could atleast minimize the affect.

The only thing that bugs me about the refs calling penalties, is the inconsistency. You can honestly call holding on just about every play, but yet one team always seems to have a lot more called against them than their opponent. I just don't agree with one team getting 15 penaties while the other only gets 5. I have yet to see a game where one team was really committing that many MORE penalties then their opponent.

Basically, if you call it on one side... call it on the other.

I just think sometimes the refs are letting too much personal bias effect their calls. OR (I don't really believe this, but this is another possible reason) the NFL is telling them to sway the calls one way or the other.
