What do you think saban will use that first round pick on?

an olineman? will help in the long run but one olineman doesnt man the whole line
outside linebacker? our rush defense is pretty solid but were gonna need someone instead of spragan
cornerback? enough said.
NEW OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR FIRST AND FOREMOST

or our secondary needs: defensive tackle, strong safety

A cornerback or linebacker is the most important position but there isn't many good olinemen in the draft this year.

i havent seen much talent from the first pick in picking o-line try in desperation in free agency for o-line i say pick up a corner or saftey maybe even a lb but i say lets hope we have the worst pick in the draft due to our superbowl victory this year lol

I'm having a hard thinking of the good players coming out of college on the defensive side of the ball.

trade the pick slide back and stockpile as many picks as possible, we need a lot of young and athletic Linebackers, and whole bunch of offensive lineman.

I haven't even been looking that far ahead, but I could see him taking a good outside linebacker or a top notch corner. He seems to prefer the defensive side of the ball on top picks (despite the Ronnie Brown pick two years ago.)

yeah solid olb or corner would be best. but we need jason allen to come around and to pick up 1 or 2 free agent olineman.

the key is a new offensive coordinator. he never uses mcmichael or chambers! its rediculous

I think it depends on where we draft. If we are in position to get a player like Calvin Johnson, there is NO WAY we pass on him. It's all speculation right now, but our needs will be O-line (obviously) LB, and CB. Our recieving corp needs a boost too. Marty Booker is getting older. Welker, as much heart as he has, will never be a #2 I don't think, so a WR is not out of the question. It also will depend on how free agency goes.

If I had a choice between Calvin Johnson and Joe Thomas, I'd take Big Joe.

Left tackle in the first

athletic outside linebacker in the second

athletic strong ILB in the 3rd

interior o lineman in the 4th or corner

Hopefully Wright, Evans, Roth, and Vickerson will infuse some youth into our D Line.

We need another good corner in free agency and a center/OG in free agency...

It all depends on who falls to us in the draft. If Calvin Johnson, Brady Quinn, or Joe Thomas were all available to us i think it would be a hard pick to decide on. I would pick Joe Thomas, than if he was not available i would get Calvin Johnson, than Brady Quinn or Drew Stanton.

Joe Thomas in the 1st. Solid player, can definitely be a franchise left tackle which is very important. Either him or Levi Brown, whichever is available to us at our spot.

i wouldn't be upset with either, though. but we would seriously have to finish in the top 3 to get johnson, and i just can't see that happening.

If we have the 1st pick you have to go with a potential franchise QB like Brady Quinn. You don't get many opportunities to pick up a good young QB.
If they passed on him and he became a star our franchise would be getting second guessed for the next 20 yrs like the Jets, Chiefs and Pats for passing on Marino.
If we aren't in a position to draft him then you stockpile picks and go defense, defense, defense. Our offense has young promising players. Our defense (especially DE and LB) is getting old.
