Reggie Howard, standing with a gleaming smile and a towel around his waist, addressed his position as the "new era of cornerback."

"Man, you remember back in the 80s, when it was all about cover corner, you know, Deion, he ain't have to tackle nobody. Then the 90s come and you got guys like Champ and Pat Surtain, guys who can lay the wood. Coaches asking us for run support, driving through, tackling. Now, it's 2005, it's all changing," he said with a trademark smile.

He went on: "One stat they never show is draft position. I'm puttin my team in a position to get a guy like Brady Quinn, or Haloti Ngata. A guy who can make a difference. You seen that guy Haloti? He's a beast. The guy weighs like 330lbs man. You always look at interceptions, passes defensed, penalties... but all that don't mean [anything] if you don't win the SuperBowl. We got Ronnie Brown here now. He's hell on wheels. That's from pickin top 2. Don't you get it? I'm strategizing, man, getting us in position to make a run at a QB."

"CBs, they used to be cover corners. Then, they were 'complete' corners. They didn't realize tackling don't make you complete. Now, we're 'difference-making' corners. Sure, I can't cover, and I can't tackle, but I can sure as hell do my part to do what's best for the team and get us that franchise signal-caller."

I can't find the stat anywhere but how many pass interference calls does Howard have this year. I think he is heading for a new NFL record.

That fourth quarter call against him today was total bull***t. He still needs to go, but I`ll give him a break on that flag.
