reggie nelson

If he comes out this year, 3rd-4th round. if he plays another season and shows he can tackle, late 1st-3rd.

Ya I use to watch him in high school, he played my team every year. He was ridicolous then, but he couldn't pass the FCAT so he had to go to junior college, but we all knew he would be big. I would love to get him on my team.

he reminds me of ed reed when he was playing in college.he always had a nose for the ball

It's amazing how a guy can go from unable to pass the FCAT (an elementary reading and algebra test) and wind up getting a college degree from a to 30 or whatever university rank UF is...

reggie nelson is a great player. If he goes in the draft this year, his stock should rise to the 2nd round after the combine.

His lack of intelligence can be compared to Pacman Jones' inablility to stay out of trouble. That said, he has all of the talent in the world and is a smaller version of Sean Taylor, probably more comparable to Palomalu actually. I can see him going around 15-20 and if somehow he made it to the 2nd round he would be a solid pick.

I keep seeing 2nd and 3rd assessments on him too. I have to question that. This guy is a first round talent. I HATE UF vehemently, but I LOVE Reggie Nelson. He is the best college safety I have seen in years. He is in on every play, has a nose for the ball, great wrap-up tackler, and good hands. Very heavy hitter too.

Yea, it's funny how your athletic ability can earn you a scholarship towards an insignificant degree. What's Nelson's major again?

We don't need to draft Nelson, if he has trouble with complicated Defenses. Ours is not an easy system and if a known good-student like Jason Allen had trouble with it, I hope we don't get lulled in by athletic ability (we won't). Admittedly I have only seen the higher profile UF games this year, but his technique seems to be line up 15 yards off the LOS and run to the ball - that won't work in the NFL; he'll have to do some play diagnosis, not to mention putting others in the correct alignment.

where did you see he has trouble with complicated defenses?

He'll be going in the 1st round. Next to Landry, he is the next best safety prospect. We need to draft LB!!!!!!!!! in either the 1st or 2nd round.
