I drove past back from Miami tonight, with 2 observations to report:
(a) the Stadium worksite was really busy with over a dozen visible cranes and work taking place in the evening.
(b) Reggie Ragland, Alabama's Champion Linebacker was interviewed on Sirius NFL radio and asked which teams have invested the most time with him? His response was that there are 4 teams, the Bears, the Saints, the Falcons and the Dolphins (all teams are close to where Miami drafts).
I still think we go Cornerback, but it was interesting and a little surprising to hear that Miami has invested a lot of time in Reggie Ragland. BTW - he interviewed really well.

I'd take in the third. Dude is a helluva oldschool thumper but also a helluva liability as a coverage LB

I'd draft him and then throw him in a time machine back to the 80's or 90's where he's a better fit, though MLB wasn't really a problem for us back then.

I wouldn't be disappointed but feel that with the QBs going 1-2 plus 3 climbing into the top 10. We definitely will have better choices at 13.

Not a RFM.

Ragland is not a 3 down 4-3 MLB and cant carry coverage as a MLB (esp. in Cover 2), IMO. There are ways and coverages to hide those weakness (Robber), but that's not as easy to maintain in the NFL as variety is needed or else it will be exposed. 2 down thumper at best as a MLB.

I think with the addition of Kiko Alonso that takes Reggie Ragland out of the running in Miami. Of course, Alonso could move to the strong side if the team really likes Ragland.

I'm actually a big fan of his. The front office is talking smart, physical and tough and he brings all of that to the table. He definitely is more old school and just adequate in coverage so you get a stud against Buffalo and New York, but not so much against New England.

I have no idea why many havent talked about Ragland. He the third best linebacker after Myles and Jaylon Smith. I wouldnt be surprised one bit.

This is all a smoke screen to possibly get a draft day trade if youe guy is not there. Terrible fit for this team but the rest of the league doesn't need to know that.

Cover your bases, pretty much all it is.

Hopefully Ragland isn't even a consideration for this team at 13. He a 2 down thumper, that's it. He will struggle mightily covering RB's and TE's in the NFL.

It took me awhile to like ragland but I finally came around. He's one of those players IMO where you don't want to focus too much on his weaknesses. If your drafting him your going to let him play to his strengths.

The tape shows a guy who can really play. You can plug him in and know he will do his job well, and possibly be flat out dominating at it. I think he's good enough where he can take away an area of the field.

The limited amount of space he covers probably takes him out of the discussion at 13 though. But if we traded back I think he could play a similar role as vontaze.

Ragland is more than a 2 down LB. He showed enough agility at the Senior Bowl and combine to answer the questions if he could hold up in a zone. His smarts are off the charts and would provide a ton of toughness to stopping the run. Good leader too.

Typically, I do not like Bama players, but Ragland would fit for the Fins though I would take a few other players before him.

Again, I would draft WJ3 or Apple at 13.

If he could keep his weight down and not play at 260, I think he could definitely be in play with hopes that his speed and athleticism will start to show after getting in the building and working with pro trainers. We could always play him or Kiko at SAM and you know someone's going to get hurt throughout the year so I could see the interest. He definitely looks the part at ILB.

Here's a decent video comparing Ragland and Jaylon Smith. It shows highlights AND low-lights! Folks, Ragland maybe slower than Koa Misi! If the play is not coming straight at him...

It's a pipe dream, but I really want Myles Jack. The dude is a freak. It would be a miracle if he is there at 13 but if he is, and we pass on him, I'll probably break a few things around the house. I like Ragland as a thumper, but he is a huge liability in coverage and we can't have that - especially in our division with Gronk and Clay.
