We are not going to fix this team in 1 draft.

The front office took excellent steps this weekend. It was a solid draft. Next year we will fix more with cap space and another solid draft. Hopefully we can start making a serious run at a championship in 2-3 years.

Could we have used a receiver, yes, but it is tough to argue that Columbo was the biggest problem last year!!!

Heck, this as as calm as I've seen Finheaven in a while. Except for several posters who complain about everything, I think most of us are pretty darn happy and excited about how things are going.

Problem is, we've been waiting for this team to be fixed for over a decade and every year it's the same thing... "don't worry, relax, it takes several drafts..." blah, blah... 8-8 here we come. Excuse me if I'm running a little low on patience and tolerance for incompetence.

Problem is, this team was trying to build from the roof down instead of the foundation up. The organization preferred to draft and sign stopgaps instead of taking their time and building a team. The sentiments for this team were never "don't worry, relax, it takes several drafts..." it has been "we're just one or two big FA signings away from contention." This is the first year we can legitimately say that the organization has come to terms with rebuilding from the ground up. Even after our 1-15 season in '07 we kept the same core and filled the gaps. This team has been riddled with holes and we just kept on churning useless and boneheaded free agents. Enough is enough with that mentality.

If we go 8-8 this year I would be damn proud considering what we have on this team. I'm predicting (and this is just post draft pre-training camp) 6-10 or 5-11. I'm okay with that. I'm not okay with lying to myself year in and year out about about the talent on our team and just ending up at 8-8.

With Philbin , we're in great hands

That remains to be seen. I really hope that he is a good coach, because that right there will have been our biggest offseason upgrade. Tony Sparano really was a lousy head coach.

Agree 100%.

My thoughts exactly.

We got a plethora of WRs in the draft and after with UDFAs. Anyone who isn't happy after this draft will never be pleased.

amen to that! if we get jake scott Og in free agency i'd be happy. Next year we'll get more west coast players.

I've been ****ting on this front office for the last 3 years. I don't like Ireland. I did not like our last few drafts.

But you have to be realistic: this was a great draft for Ireland and the Dolphins. It just might go on to fix some glaring issues.

I'm very optimistic about Philbin and this draft class and no one is going to convince me otherwise.
