Giving Tuna and co. 2-3 really good drafts and we should be a superbowl contender just not a playoff contender. Just enjoy seeing the new guys learn as they play and next years draft i hope we get some help at WR.

1 1st 2 2nds and a 3 should mean 4 holes to be filled

There was no difference between our performance in the opener this year compared to last year, only difference being we actually had a running game last year. Getting rid of Bobby Jackson was a huge error on our part.

You are wrong IMO. There is a huge difference. Last year we stunk up the field because we did not have the skill to match up with the other teams. Now we have the skill, but made mental errors. We can fix the mental errors...it is to be expected with young players. You should see improvement from week to week during this year. Next year, when we get the skill positions...sorry, but we will have to go through some pains again with them...the year after that is when we will be a competative team that should made the playoffs.

Just remember one thing. Tuna is not coaching the fins.

Yeah, he might get you the personel, but he isnt going to be the guy to coach this team. He wont even committ to going to your away games. In typical Tuna fashion, he will leave you guys hanging in 3 years tops.

What is the matter with most everybody? Before the season we all said we would be happy with 5 to 8 wins, we lost one game. There is good things to see everywhere on this team but all anybody can see is the negative. I liked what I saw on Sunday, if Farve wouldn't have thrown up all his prayers we could have easily won the game. But even if we had all it would have proven is the Jets aren't very good either. This is not going to happen overnight, give them some time and like Dolphins101 said RELAX.

My advice is be careful relying on BP being there long term and getting the right players. he's been medicore at best picking players.

you are dead wrong. there is a huge difference in this year last year. Remember that the rooster is and staff ( coaches) almost all new. We also drafted the linemen first.... if ginn , allen, beck played where they were drafted we would have some skilled production... we can not match up with other teams because of this. As the team meshes 2-3 weeks we will start winning ..... i can say the along with most finheaven fans that the prediction of 5 to 6 wins is what we expected and should get from this team ..... anything more is unrealistic

You obviously only look at win and loss column. Unfortunately, this gives you no idea of what your team will play like for the rest of the year. My comparison between last year and this year is shown below. Our defense is much better this year, and our offense was about the same except all of our scores were TDs this year. It is clear that we will be a vastly improved team.

2008 2007
Rushing Yards Allowed... 112 191
Passing Yards Allowed... 181 209
Total Yards Allowed...... 293 400
Rushing Avg. Allowed.... 3.6 4.7
Passing Avg Yards Allowed 7.2 9.1
Points Allowed ............ 20 16
Sacks........................ 3 2
Ints ......................... 0 2
Rushing Yards ............ 49 66
Passing Yards............. 228 207
Total Yards ............... 277 273
Rushing Avg. ............. 2.9 3.3
Passing Avg. ............. 4.9 5.2
Points Scored ............ 14 13
Sacks Allowed ........... 4 2
Ints Thrown .............. 1 0

Against the Jets Thomas Jones ran all over us, last year it was Portis. Our secondary looked as clueless against the Jets this year as they did last year against the Redskins. Our WRs managed to get worse, as did our running game, and Pennington is essentially Trent Green with a weaker arm.

Our TE's got better apparently, and Roth seems to be a better fit as on OLB, but as stated, if you're comparing the openers, it's not like there was a whole lot there that you could point to to tell you there's a huge difference between this team and last year's.

I mean, if you want to say we'll get better down the road then that's fine, but it was the same song and dance last year as our pro bow defense was gashed game after game, but now we're JT and ZT-less.

Oh, and as opposed to giving a ton of money to Joey Porter, we gave it to Earnest Wilford...who couldn't make the roster last week.

I'm not saying they won't get better, but there was nothing there to suggest this team is leaps and bounds better than last year's, again, going by the opener.

Uh, yeah, you look at that comparison and honestly see a noticable improvement?

maybe the rooster can take the place of the chicken on punt returns. sorry couldnt resist. the only fans getting mad are the tools who thought we would be 10-6 this year. most of us know this is a rebuilding time, and so im not upset one bit. another good draft, some fa signings, and we will keep building.
