Against the Jets Thomas Jones ran all over us, last year it was Portis. Our secondary looked as clueless against the Jets this year as they did last year against the Redskins. Our WRs managed to get worse, as did our running game, and Pennington is essentially Trent Green with a weaker arm.
Our TE's got better apparently, and Roth seems to be a better fit as on OLB, but as stated, if you're comparing the openers, it's not like there was a whole lot there that you could point to to tell you there's a huge difference between this team and last year's.
I mean, if you want to say we'll get better down the road then that's fine, but it was the same song and dance last year as our pro bow defense was gashed game after game, but now we're JT and ZT-less.
Oh, and as opposed to giving a ton of money to Joey Porter, we gave it to Earnest Wilford...who couldn't make the roster last week.
I'm not saying they won't get better, but there was nothing there to suggest this team is leaps and bounds better than last year's, again, going by the opener.
