I hear a lot of you guys saying some of these veteran players are to old
but its not like we are going to build the team around them
its more like renting a player for a year while we find a replacement (in the draft)
I am all for building threw the draft but we only get X amount of picks a year
This team really over achieved last season
This team still has many holes to fill why not use some players that have proven them self's before (for the right price) to fill them until we find a long time answer

Why would you want to slow the development of younger players in place for over the hill guys who aren't going to help you win a Super Bowl anyway? I mean if Marvin Harrison was still putting up 100 catch, pro-bowl seasons then yeah he'd be worth signing. But he's not. He's clearly done. So is Derrick Brooks. So is Joey Galloway. So is Fred Taylor. I mean come on.....

Then why didn't we start solai at DT? Ferg won't be around much longer. Why did we trade for him at all with your logic? We'll have to cut porter so we can get Wake on te field also.

There's a place for both types of players young and old. A veteran WR would help our young core's overall developement.

Parcells is very familiar with him, he was easily attainable, and when we got him he was 33 not 37 like Marvin Harrison or 308 like Joey Galloway. Players on the line typical last longer than skill position (at least RB/WRs) anyway, 33 isn't old for a DT.

I agree that old players should be thought of when looking at filling holes. Look at the Pats for a good example. They do it all the time, Seau has been awesome for them, Dillon did very well for them. Fred Taylor, who I am guessing will end up a Pat will probably kill us (like always). I think if they come at a good price I'm all for it.

marvin is still a better wr than any of our guys
derrick is better than all our linebacker (not joey)
if they come cheap why not ease our younger players in instead of feeding them to the lions their rookie season you cant expect to much out of our rookies were not picking in the top 10 anymore these guys cant be expected to come in and do great like Jake did.

yeah, coming back isn't possible.... They're "done".......
just like Kurt Warner was with the Giants....
Joey Porter was with the Dolphins....

i could go on, and on... but why ?

I agree. Those players you named sound like dinosaurs. However I would sign Coles and T.J.
