The latest news about Jason Taylor's possible return to Miami isn't so promising - if you're one of the many who want the legendary pass-rusher to return to the Dolphins. The Sun-Sentinel is reporting that the Dolphins are not so serious in re-signing the free agent pass-rusher:

The Miami Dolphins don't seem to have much interest in re-signing Jason Taylor, who has been a free agent since the Washington Redskins released him in early March.

Taylor, 34, has expressed a strong desire to return to the franchise with which he earned six Pro Bowl berths and the 2006 NFL Defensive Player of the Year award. Taylor's family and foundation are based in South Florida. But the Dolphins have not begun serious negotiations with him.

The New England Patriots still have a strong interest, according to sources. Another option is Tampa Bay: The Buccaneers' defensive coordinator is Jim Bates, a fan of Taylor's from their days together with the Dolphins. Taylor is expected to make a decision within the next week or two

If it's not us, it's the Bucs. And if it's not us, we're dumb.

Thats all I need to see is JT going to the F**king patriots.

I know I'm so piss, I know that a lot of fan do not want him back but to let him go to NE is a mistake. We as fan need to let the FO know that we want him back.

Any ideas.

you should probably link to the site where you stole that article from - dont ya think?

Why would we be dumb not to re-sign him? He was horrible in Washington last year and our defense was actually better much better without him.

See, things are playing out just like I have been warning people. JT wanting to play for the Dolphins is nothing more than a PR stunt by him. I hate having to keep saying it, but people just don't seem to grasp it yet. The Dolphins don't need him, JT knows that. He also really has no desire to play for the Dolphins again. There is a reason why he put up a big fuss last year that ultimately got him traded out of town, which is what he wanted. He wants to sign with the Patriots, but he knows that will anger the team and fans that he spent over a decade with. How does he keep the love from Dolphins fans and still sign with the Patriots? He makes a big public stink saying he would love to play for the Dolphins again, but it the ball is in their court. This way, when he does in fact sign with New England, it will make the Dolphins front office look like the bad guys and JT is still the good guy that had to "settle" for the Patriots.

Come on guys, don't fall for this PR stunt JT is currently working on.

Dude, you called it.

I wouldn't mind having Taylor back at the right price, but the truth is that we didn't miss him very much on defense in 2008. If he's willing to come back and make it worth our while by signing a reasonable contract, why the heck not??...

I don't hold any hard feelings against Taylor anymore, and I certainly think we could use another pass rusher to improve the defense. I'm just not sure how serious the trifecta is in giving him another chance. I guess time will tell, but if he ends up in New England / Tampa Bay, then so be it....

IN TUNA WE TRUST....

Seriously, if we didn't want Vonnie Holliday back to play DE for us due to wanting our young guys to play, then why would we bring JT back to play OLB with Roth, Walden and Moses over there? (Wake's backing up Porter on the other side, right?)

we should re-sign jt for 2 reasons..1). to keep him away from the patriots and 2). he can still play and has proved more than anyone else on our team at that position..i kinda envision him how we used trace armstrong late in his career, as a pass rushing specialist..

JT to the Pats, that would be like Pennington being our starting QB...ahhh crap wait!
