We can sign Nick Perry anytime. He was cut by Green Bay so he's a street free agent. Doesn't count against comp picks
I agree, nothing more than the vet minimum. Coming off an injury, I guess all we can hope for is someone more scheme disciplined than Alonzo. His sack numbers were improving before the injury, 11 in 16 and 7 in 17. In 18, after 9 games to only have 1.5 sacks is disconcerting. What can we expect from him as an edge rusher? Is that what they want his role to be? He is going to be turning 30 and coming off an ACL, so I wouldn't expect much if he joins the club.Unless it's close to the vet minimum it doesn't seem to make much sense.
On the other hand we have almost no pass rushers with experience in the 3-4, so I guess we need someone.
Yah this guys tires are worn thin - a real steal thoWould be another heartbreak for the 'tank for Tua' group
I think the Harris project is at an end. Maybe the previous idiot regime we had stunted his growth, but I wouldn't count on that being true. When he was drafted he was a guy that had potential, but he didn't really move the needle in terms of confidence. He seems like a good kid, but is lacking in intensity and desire. But I hope I am wrong and he turns into an All-Pro.I would much rather see the team try and develop Harris and Van Ginkel. I’m not sleeping on the two AAF guys either, they have the potential to really surprise.
To me this makes no sense at all. Too old and unproductive 1 year rental who might just stunt the growth of a younger guy.
He is not a “gifted” edge player and any production will have to be schemed anyway. Hopefully they are just throwing him a bone due to the Graham relationship and just talking.

You made some very good points. To me this makes no sense at all. Too old and unproductive 1 year rental who might just stunt the growth of a younger guy.

18 sacks + 18 TFL in 26 games is very good production. His problem is and has always been staying healthy.
If we don't sign Nick Perry today or tomorrow then we obviously don't really give a f*** about 2019 (don't believe this is the case).
