In December of 2021 the NFL gave organizations international marketing rights in dedicated countries. Miami has international marketing rights in Brazil, Spain, and the United Kingdom. So it does make sense Miami would want to play a game in front of those fans.

That's why.

Money.

I understand it’s about MONEY but as a long time Dolphin fan and an NFL fan even longer. I hate that regular season games are played in countries where there are few fans of the game. I hope they never put a team in any other country except perhaps Canada. Because any team with their home base in Europe would be at a severe disadvantage because of the constant travel back and forth to America to play away games.

Play Seattle in Brasil where the Fins are the away team. Thats about the only way it'd make sense for the Fins for these games to happen.

I wish they came to Monterrey, NL, Mexico. We've only had one preseason game here ever. I was there. Cowboys-Chiefs back in the Troy Aikman and Steve Bono era in the 90's.

They stopped going to Mexico because the players and the league were concerned over the grass playing fields in Mexico and the increased possibly of injuries on these poorly maintained fields.

If there aren't enough existing fans, they will probably fill the stadium simply out of curiosity and marketing the experience. He will likely mint more in one game there than he would in Miami, but even that's cushion change. It's the long game. Try to build a brand and market with the idea that it's a start. I am not defending it, just trying to understand it.

If that was ever true, it sure it no longer is.

There's two brand new stadiums hosting one of the best Mexican League soccer teams, another hosting Mexican College Football and an older but pristinely maintained soccer stadium for THE BEST soccer team in Mexico, in my town alone.

Two $500MUSD stadiums and an older but larger and renewed one. The renovations were $100MUSD. Mexican soccer revenue and payrolls have increased drastically.

Then we also have two top mexican college football teams, one shares one of the soccer stadiums and the other used to own one of the older stadiums that did suck back in the day, demolished it and built a football only stadium and no longer share it with anybody. All 3 of them are state of the art facilities.
