I guess the inside sources were wrong in this case. The team might still walk away from Richie but at least they seem to know that they should wait for the rest of the case to be concluded before bending to the wishes of the media and its marching agenda.

Must be both sides want to see how it plays out.

[h=1]Report: Incognito agrees to extend his suspension, with pay[/h]With the Dolphins just three days away from having to make a decision to release Richie Incognito or reinstate him from suspension, it appears that Incognito will make things easy on the team by agreeing to a third option: Keep the suspension going, with pay.

Jeff Darlington of NFL Network reports that Incognito and the Dolphins have agreed that Incognito will remain away from the team, but will get paid, while investigator Ted Wells continues examining the Dolphins’ locker room culture. The Dolphins suspended Incognito indefinitely on November 3 after Jonathan Martin walked away from the team, allegedly because Incognito was harassing him. But under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, teams really aren’t permitted to suspend a player “indefinitely.” The maximum length of a suspension a team can impose on a player is four games, and four games will be up on Sunday

Cog is not making things easy on the team. A company can do what ever they please as long as they are willing to pay the bill.

Probably not too hard to agree on getting $230,000 a week to sit home.. Don't care what your profession is, it wouldn't be too hard to agree upon!

You didn't even read the article in the OP before forming this opinion. Sigh.

Martin gets paid for being lazy as well ..It is time for Fireland..

"I will cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation with a goal of resuming my career with the Miami Dolphins at the conclusion of this investigation," Incognito said in a statement earlier this month. "I love my teammates and hope we can put this distraction behind us soon." ~ Richie Incognito

Incog has likely played his last game for the Fins. I am glad the team paid him. He was prankster but IMHO the team threw him under the bus.
If the investigators find that coaches and team officials played a part in the team "culture", hopefully they get cut without another paycheck.

What a shameful experience this whole mess has been for those involved and still the saga continues..

Hopefully lesson learned for all.

I think the person who wrote the article the OP posted may be reporting this inaccurately. I just read through the CBA and it says that the maximum a player can be suspended without pay is four weeks, however, there was nothing that limited how long a player could be suspended WITH pay. From what I read, there would be no need for Incognito to "agree" to anything. The Dolphins organization is perfectly within their rights to suspend him with pay for as long as he is under contract.

Edit: The way it reads over at ESPN, the "agreement" might have been to suspend him with pay in exchange for Incognito holding off on his grievance.

Next year he'll be gone. We need a whole new look @O-line.

Pouncey will be the vet the rooks learn from. Just draft like 5 guys on the line.

This makes me feel good about the situation. The Dolphins seem to be not entirely against keeping Incognito if they are willing to still p
ay him instead of cutting him.

I'm not sure why you think that. If they wanted to keep him on the field, there's nothing stopping them from reinstating him immediately. It could just as easily be the organization not wanting to release RI prematurely because that could work against them with whatever grievance RI will inevitably file.

Suspending Incognito was a PR move because of the release voice mail. Until the NFL give their official determination, then the Phins will make the decision on bringing him back. The phins likely want him back, this is why they are not making any hasty moves.
