Report: Peyton Manning cleared to resume NFL Career

This certainly changes the entire situation. Thanks Bonedoc for some knowledgeable input on what Manning is facing. Bottom line is if he can throw, you have to move on him; however, I think Manning stays in Indy. If you recall when the Colts gave him that huge bonus, Peyton refused saying it was to much and to use the money on other positions. Manning is not selfish and I am fairly convinced he will restructure and stay there.

As for Luck, he already said he will sit behind Manning and learn if that is the situation. Don't tell me about affordability because you saw how bad the Colts are without him. He is the MVP of the league hands down and his presence alone puts them right back in the division hunt.

Peyton Manning is the face of the NFL. Irsay knows it and I have a hard time believing he cuts Manning without a huge backlash from the fan base. This is far different then Favre and Rogers. Rogers sat three years before Green Bay decided to go with him over Favre. It wasn't until that point that any controversy started and most of that was from the media and non Packers fans.

This is going to be very interesting over the next 6 weeks as this plays out in fact, this will be the most interesting off season in a long time.

Do you really think Luck will sit for 3 whole years? In what universe? That is not going to happen. Luck is a number one draft pick who needs to play rigth away. Sitting 3 years would retard his growth. Just ask the Manning family what they think of QB's sitting for 3 years. . .No way

Don't want to sound too hard, but this report is old news.

Peyton was cleared to start throwing since the end of regular season. This week's report was only a reiteration of such clearance, and his doctors are claiming his neck is no longer a problem, but concerns are still on nerves of neck and triceps at his throwing arm. Those nerves are causing numbness, atrophy and loss of strength in his triceps, so the issue isn't if Peyton can play football again it's all about of the level of playing that he could recover.

I mean, as today there are more questions than answers:
What's
the value of Peyton Manning with limited arm strength?
How fragile is his neck after 3 surgeries?

Many players have returned from neck surgery, but as no other QB have ever got a similar injury, there's no way to calculate a timetable for his recovery.

Doubt it. We have a new competent coaching staff, talented offense, capable defense. Better overall team than Arizona. Peyton does not make AZ Super Bowl contenders, however he makes Miami contenders. I think if he was smart, which he is, he will choose Miami.
If I were Peyton I would bank on "Which team has better OL members and coaches?"

For everyone that thinks Manning is all about the Colts, he isn't. They've already asked him to restructure to push back the date he receives his bonus beyond the starting of FA. This would help the organization figure out their other FA issues, address some of the cap space problems, and/or possibly work out a trade. He refused. He expects Indy to act. This is a solid move by him because he cannot be faulted. If they keep him, he'll stay in the house he built with a pile of money. If they let him go, the organization turned their back on the guy that made them.
