QB

Pennington - done for the year, sad but he is not the long term answer, lets move on.

Henne - Time to see what we have, there will be ups and downs but he needs the rest of the season to see if he can lead this team.

White - x factor, experimental, say what you will, its early but it looks to me like we wasted a pick here, I can't help think Maualaga would have been the better pick here.

RB

Brown - A top 5 back, keep feeding him and we can control TOP, MVP thus far

Williams - Would start on most other teams, still runs hard and a great spell for RB

Cobbs - Solid but unspectacular but what you want for your 3rd back

WR

Ginn - Very very disappointing, he has not emerged and I don't think he will without a real number 1 WR ala Bolden, he doesn't even offer a threat returning anymore and his confidence seems at rock bottom.

Camarillo - average at best, steady but does not seem 100% recovered from injury.

Bess - Slot guy, no more, great hands but not going to take it to the house.

Hartline - Done nothing to impress, why isn't Turner given a shot?

TE

Fasano - where is this guy, talk about a drop off sheesh

Haynos - I see nothing in this guy

O-line

$150 million dollar investment and whilst the run blocking is good the QB's are getting no time to pass. Teams will blitz the crap out of Henne and he needs a too much time at the moment - this worries me.

D-Line

Very impressive, everyone is contributing although more sacks/pressures would help

LB's

The most disappointing unit

Porter - hurt so he gets a pass

Taylor - looks done to me, a shadow of his former self and probably should have hung them up.

Crowder - Pathetic, no play-recognition, an ILB needs to pick up on that Rivers scramble, he didnt even turn his head to see what Rivers was doing. We've seen this before - entertaining at press conferences but he has no instincts.

Ayodele - a journeyman, no more

DB's

Allen - Is getting picked on and he doesn't like it, too many penalties

Smith - Raw but encouraging - he will be a baller when he gets it down.

Bell - Should be the box safety, a good tackler but no ball skills

Wilson - Should be cut, he is another Bell and we need a ball-hawking FS that can tackle which, despite the numbers at OAK he cannot do.

Special Teams

Carpenter - Steady

Fields - Erratic

Return -Game = pathetic

Realistically we need a heck of a lot if we are going to compete. This team is 5 years off at this rate and here's why:

QB - We still don't have one, is Henne the answer, maybe but I'm not sold based on what I've seen here and at Michigan

RB - Set depending on whether we resign RB which we must

WR - No playmakers, Ginn would be a good compliment to a Bolden but there are not many of them about

O-line - Should be set but Smiley and Carey are going backwards and Long seems to be suffering.

TE - Again with Fasano going AWOL we have nothing here, we have seen in weeks 1-3 what a quality TE can add to an offence and I think our schedule and CP10's outstanding season last year overinflated what Fasano actually is.

D-line - Set and very impressive apart from NT which is a massive need, Fergie will be done at the end of the season and Soliai whilst improved will not be able to replace him

LB - To me we need an entire new crew here, JP and JT are done and CC and AA are poor - thats 4 picks people to sort this out

DB's - We need 2 new safetys, Bell is old and brittle and Wilson plain garbage - again at least one pick needs to be spent here, thankfully the corners should become solid starters and I think Smith will be All-Pro one day.

Its sad but thats my honest take here, we are at least 2 drafts away here by which time Ronnie will have more mileage and may even be slowing down which means we will need another RB

I hurt :(

If you judge by the numbers our OL is doing incredible on run blocking as we are the 3rd best of the league, our DL is doing incredible as we are the 3rd best run defense on the league. Problem seems to be lack of pressuring the QB, (Taylor & Porter + Blitzing Schemes) pass defense (Wilson, Allen and Jones - I excuse Smith and Davies because they are rookies) and passing the ball, and I think is more related to the WR's not being open and the lack of arm by the QB (we will see if Henne can improve that part) that with the OL.
