Bruce Pearl's tenure at Tennessee has come to a close.
Pearl met with Tennessee athletics director Mike Hamilton on Monday and was informed of the school's decision to make a move, according to FoxSports.com's Jeff Goodman and other media reports.
Tennessee officials have not returned calls to USA TODAY seeking to confirm the reports.
Pearl had been working without a contract with the Volunteers since last September, when he admitted lying to NCAA investigators when they were looking into possible recruiting violations made by the Tennessee coaching staff.
The NCAA recently sent a notice of allegations to the school documenting 10 major violations under Pearl's watch, including an unethical conduct charge against the coach.
