Reshad Jones might retire.

At one time one of my favorite Fins, but it is hard to get over him quitting in the team mid game because he was being rotated in and out.

Injuries caught up to Jones but in some ways the game started to pass him buy. He could still make the big plays here and there but safeties can not freelance like they used to

10 yr in nfl. Jones u did ur time if u want retire enjoy ur life..ur career is only going down hill from now. So retire now

Still better than those bums Rowe and McCain.
Mcain is a nickel DB/slot corner playing a safety position. He doesn't have the instincts for safety, play him where he can succeed and it will work out tad better.

I remember Jason Taylor identifying him as an up and coming star. Taylor and others challenged Jones to live up to his potential, and he became a grinder and a leader, living up to his potential despite his 5th round draft status. Jones always played hurt and rarely ever even let the trainers know, because he was full of self-sacrifice and showing up when the bell was rung. Yes, he was outspoken at times. Yes, he took exception at coaching choices and voiced those concerns publicly, but at the end of the day, he was a warrior, and one of the best safeties we've had in the last 20 years.

The Dolphins have had some truly special safeties, from HoF-worthy guys such as Dick Anderson and Jake Scott, and later very good safeties such as Louis Oliver, Brock Marion and Jarvis Williams. IMHO, Reshad Jones deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as those guys.

Interestingly enough Peyton Manning and Tom Brady have both said Ed Reed is one of the best defensive player they ever went against
What? Brady said it was Taylor and Peyton said Zach.

Brady and Manning had a tremendous amount of respect for Reed along with those two.

His 2015 season was the best in the NFL by any measure of a safety. Then he got hurt intercepting Big Ben in 2016 and wow, that was a long time ago. I think he still managed to score a couple TDs on big plays after that but just wasn’t the same player. We’ve had some great players at that position over the years - Jones 2015 season was as good as any of them. Just saying.

He said Reed was “one of” not “the best”.
