Rey Maualuga looks like he's in better shape now

When Rey Maualuga first arrived in Miami, he looked hopelessly out of shape. At the time, I thought the signing was a mistake.

But he looks much better now.

Looked like a write off to me earlier glad he worked out
 
First pic was probably a bad angle coupled with a bit of extra weight making it look like he was morbidly obese.

That's going to depend on who the Jets have on the field in the huddle. He's probably not going to be on the field a lot for 3 WR sets or on obvious passing downs.

Absolutely. Still want to see what he does on conventional first down, tho. Looked like he was in better game shape, Sun.
 
Good addition to the team as a 2 down LB. nice upgrade over Hull. Nothing spectacular, but he busts up blocks with his size and frees up Timmons and Kiko.
 
When Maualuga first joined the Dolphins he said he needed to lose more than 10 pounds. I don't think Gase was going to a player who was out of shaped on the field. That would not only hurt the player but the team as well. Although Maualuga said he reached his target weight in September, it was until the Titans game that he made his Dolphins debut. Rey played 31 defensive snaps that game.
 
yep better shape but still very slow to anything even just off tackle...

expected though
