Are the players actually that bad on this team that they can't even hold a new guy off?

Or is the coaching staff can't make a decision? It's like they don't ever make concrete decisions, so they wont be blamed for something when it goes wrong.

Like the whole Wilford thing, they have seen this guy for at least 3 months. And you still can't determine where he best fits on the field.

Did you see Ikechuku Ndukwe play in the pre-season or the 1 play last week ? Yeah, he was a backup and not that great. They like his potential but he's a project. The new guy has started 15 games for Carolina I think so it's not surprising that he's a little better than Ndukwe. It's ok to have a project guy as your backup until the starter is hurt. Then you should start looking at available players.

Man, I'm getting concerned about the RG position. I don;t like what I saw out of Ndukwe in pre-season, given he was playing tackle and not gaurd.

Another point is that right guard is the easiest position on the line for a new player to be added. There are very few stunt pickup calls as opposed to the plethora of adjustments required by the left guard in passing situations. Basically, it is gap responsibility and run blocking. Clearly, this is a simplification, but it is the easiest. The chemistry demands are less since the player hand-off responsibilities (stunts) are expected to be lower. I would rather a veteran who knows the line calls solid play this position since he react and not think too much.

so why go after evan mathis?

i dont get it?

he has played for the coaches, knows the system
and is healthy. and, he is a RT GUARD!!

dookie has been cut from the trifecta before. and
he couldnt win the starting job here. and they
