Kiper trashed the Ginn pick, which initially told me that it was a great move, but when he proclaimed that Spielman had a great draft for Minny I KNEW that his disgust with the Dolphins strategy could only mean this draft will be the best we've seen in a decade. Thanks Mel!
 
wow i dont know about the logic but it was a solid draft
 
Adrian Peterson, Sidney Rice, Marcus McCauley, Rufus Alexander, and Andrae Allison

Better then our draft...Even though they have more risk then us but very well could reap great reward.

Mels right they had a very good draft IMO.
 
Your logic is terrible. Just because Spielman wasn't a good GM here doesn't mean anything he does is automatically wrong or doomed. Hindsight is great but at the moment it looks like the Vikes had a good draft that could prove to have a very high reward factor in the future.
 
My point wasn't an analysis of the Vikings draft but since you insist... McCauley andn Allison are nothing to brag about. They'll be working at Dairy Queen within three years. And as for Peterson, he's a stud, no doubt. RUns hard. Which gets him hurt. Every single year. Assuming he gets hurt next year, which logic dictates, I think you have to weigh the pick against how many games he's actually on the field for. Look around the league at the undersized guys who run like him. Other than Walter Payton, they don't last. Unless the Vikes can platoon him, I wonder if he'll turn out to be another Ricky Williams, a good year or two but mostly a lot of missed games.
