If Ricky comes back how would you use him? And then how would you use Ronnie?

Dont make our 2nd round pick into a blocker!! He's much more valuable than that!!

No way a 6'0 230 lb. runner who runs a 4.37 will be a fullback.

If Ricky came back, (which I do NOT want), Ronnie will start and Ricky will spell him when he needs a breather.

Ricky would have to prove he can even still play. He's got to get back into shape.

After a season like our last, I've changed my mind. I'd love to have Ricky back. Couple him with Brown, and we could kick some serious tail.

Steve

Ricky has just too many issues. I'd take him back only if we never drafted Ronnie....but we have Ronnie and it's time for a new era....does look like he'll be back though.

Brown would still be the main back IMO, but Ricky would get his fair share of carries. Ronnie would probably get around 200 for the season and Ricky would get around 100.

if he comes back wich i dont think he will we should make him sit the hole season foe what he did and then make him compete for the starting job b/c it wouldn't be no fair if we just let him come back and start

Let ricky be part of the wedge on special teams. GIVE THE BALL TO R. Brown on offense!!!

You can keep telling yourself that all you want. But the fact is Saban has allready came right out and said that Ronnie would be splitting carries with another significant running back. One could only assume that a deal with RW has allready been arranged. Another month and we will all know for sure.

My guess is that RW will be back after his contract has been restructured. It will be a lower, insentive ridden, cap freindly contract.

Saban is making all the right moves!!

:roflmao:

WRONG!!!!!

Seriously, I'm not trying to be a jerk, but you have seriously, seriously misread what Saban said. He said "IF Williams had value to the organization," he'd welcome him back. Does that AUTOMATICALLY mean if he signed back, that he'd start???? HELL NO!!

...and Ronnie Brown was quoted as saying that he wouldn't mind splitting carries with someone else. That's just a show of how down to earth and humble he is. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ricky ain't coming back. Just accept it.

they would have the option of motioning RB out of the back field into the slot where he could be really dangerous. IMO his strongest asset is his ability to catch the ball.

They could motion him out of the backfield and they defense still doesn't know for sure if it is a run a pass...interesting..

I like it...

Actually the best way to do this is by allowing Ricky to start getting most of the time in the beginning, and as the season progresses (depending how fast Brown comes along), you start giving him more and more time, to the point that it will be Brown starting and Ricky coming in to give Brown time to rest.

This would allow Brown to slowly get used to the NFL, allow Ricky to take most of the punishment (as well as give), and allows Brown to learn, not get beat up while learning.

I believe it should go this way...

1st few games(2-3 games)- Ricky 70%-80% of the time....Ronnie 20%-30%

3rd to 5th game- Ricky 60%-70% of the time....Ronnie 30%-40%

5th to 8th game- Ricky 50% and Ronnie 50%

The after the 8th game Ronnie should be given the starting job, with Ricky coming in at the coaches choice. All this depends on Ricky being in good enough shape to play, and proves he can still help the team, and how fast Ron Brown picks up this offense, and proves to be as good or better then Ricky.
