Ricky in Canada

A year in Canada could be very good for both parties. If Ricky buckles down and performs, then not only do the Phins get a proven NFL commodity back and thus enhancing an already improving offense but we would also get a far bigger trade chip who could be worth a 3rd rounder.

I can understand the need to pay his child support. With that said I pray he make's it threw this season without a major injury myself.I for one am looking forward to seeing him run some more for us.

my wife are aready preparing tickets to watch him play... here in Calgary...

Teams won't stop him...

WHY...?

Defensive Players are usually all smaller..., they need swift fleet footed 210-220 pound linebackers who can cover and defend the run...

defense starts one extra yard off the line of scrimmage

the field is substantially wider...

receivers can go in motion and even take a forward run at the line of scrimmage..

Williams versus cream cheese..., John Avery looks like a superman on the Troront Argonauts

Everything stacks up against the Defense in this league

Michel Sellers HB/FB with Washington destroyed teams running up the gut while he played two seasons in Winnipeg...

John Avery (AVERAGE)

John Avery has never even been in the top 5 for rushing or YPC in the CFL, although I predict Ricky will be

Ricky forget the weak argo's ... come to Calgary...then we will officially have 2 of the greatest outdoor show's on earth! Go Stamps!

there are not many rb injuries in the CFL, the game is not as physical as the nfl.

If Ricky does go to Canada and does have a really great season then why (which i just can't figure out) Why would anyone want to trade Ricky when he comes back to the Dolphins. With Ricky, and Ronnie on the same team playing a full season and no injuries I can see both running backs getting 1200-1400 yards a season. I think Ricky is a great running back the things that he does off the field i don't care for but he is one of the best running backs in the NFL. Why would we want to trade him for a 3rd round pick? Who in the 3rd round would give us the production that Ricky would give us for the next 3 or 4 seasons?????? Just my opinion.

You are really going out on a limb there...

I see this move to the CFL as having more positives than negatives attached.

1. He will be in a structured enviornment rather than living in a tent in God-only-knows-whereland
2. He has agreed to continue to remain a part of the NFLs drug rehab program and to be tested by the CFL

-Side note: Perhaps the CFL will adopt their own drug policy as a result of this run through with Ricky

3. He can meet his financial obligations to his children
4. Hopefully, he will stay in football shape and avoid injury

The only downside that I can see would be the risk of injury but I think the risk of injury would be greater if here was forced to sit out another year then return to the NFL in '07
