I know a lot of you guys here are high on Ricky, but if you think about it he is to blame for this downward spiral of the dolphins. When he retired we were forced to draft a feature back = Ronnie Brown. Here is where it gets funny. If Ricky would have never retired and assuming we would have had the same record in that draft we took Ronnie, we could have taken Braylon Edwards. Then Last year have taken Quinn becuase there would be no need for Ginn! and in the second rd. we could have taken either another WR or a REAL position of need. well just thought id share that.

If Ricky didnt retire, you can basically garuantee we would not be drafing where we had drafted.. Our draft position would be completely different, even if its only a 1 positional difference, it makes a HUUGE difference. Our entire roster would most likely be COMPLETELY different as our needs would have changed.

at first I was going to rob you of you dignity because of the title, but you do have a point.

Correction: If Ricky hadn't retired, there's no way we would finish 4-12. Since Huizenga is nearly spineless, he wouldn't have fired WannSpiel if we were 9-7. And those goons would screw up the draft anyways. Then we wouldn't have Ronnie Brown and our first round pick would probbaly be somebody that is no longer in the NFL.....

I am looking forward to your next post entitled "Wanny should've drafted Brees instead of Fletcher".

Your a head of your time bro.

perhaps wanspiel should have brought someone in to replace jay better than AJ feeley...

ok this whole topic confuses me. I disliked ricky since he retired, I never got my hopes up for him, not even this year but for the first time since that day after he screwed the dolphins by quiting, I am going to defend him.

He has always fumbled, he was never the kind of back that could get you three when you needed them in the first half.

Like the above poster said, we would have had different drafting positions if he had not retired- and for that there is no debate. The only thing ricky is responsable for is Ronnie Brown and for me thats a positive. Everything else falls on the front office

You can't put blame on anyone except for the people responsible for acquiring our talent (or lack there of), because there are two may variables in this argument. What if Ricky doesn't retire, and has some kind of carer ending injury? We would theoretically be in a worse position having Ronnie Brown and Patrick Cobbs carrying the load. There are other scenarios that I am sure none of us could even conceive. The bottom line is in the last five years we have drafted next to no talent, and have traded our draft picks on worthless or handicapped qb's!

My feelings on RW, which are very negative are well known. I will not rehash them. I will simply say you can no more blame RW for the decline of this franchise than the man on the moon. It was, in fact, this organization that, in essence, forced RW to come back and, will not make the tough descisions necessary to bring this team back to the position of the moral high ground and class it has represented to me for all my life until recently. RW should not be on this team. That's not his problem. It's the team's problem.

Nah, screw it. you know what I think? DON SHULA is to blame!

If Shula hadn't retired, we would have brought in Jimmy Johnson to run the team. Without johnson here, Wannstedt never would have become our DC. Then Wannstedt never would have been our HC! D*** you Shula, d*** you!

I bet nobody saw that one coming....;)

Whoa.. how old is this argument.

I am thankful Ricky left.. it pushed Wanny our the door and exposing Wanny for the fraud he was.

Oh yea. Ricky drafted Eddie Moore instead of Anquan Bolden!

As much as I respect the man...Have you seen some of his later drafts? *Woof*....:(

Wow. I know RW has made some bad decisions, but this seems kinda harsh. It's not like he's a killer and the team let's him stay on the team.

Yea, he's done some boneheaded things. Some people just aren't cut out for the stress that life throws at them. Every human being has doubts about what they are doing at some point in their life. Among other things, Ricky couldn't handle his job.

If you have a stressful job and just can't handle the pressure anymore and quit without giving your boss notice, who am I to say you are immoral and a scumbag? If you don't like what you're doing, you get out and try to find what makes you happy.

Get off the guys back. He's just trying to live his life and be happy just like the rest of us. Like I said, it sucks what he did, but who are we to judge him?
