I didn't see Vonnie Holliday pulled off the depth chart when he injured his hamstring.
This is probably a significant development, but not THAT significant because no matter what they were always planning on giving both players equal work once the season starts.
The most revealing thing Sparano said was during a press conference maybe last week when he talked about trying to figure out which runner fits what role. He talked about Dallas how they had the guy that starts the game, and then the guy that comes in and gives them a little more energy as the game wears on. Julius Jones was the guy that started but Marion Barber was the guy they used just as much if not a little more.
I've always kind of harped on Ronnie how he seems to start games off slow before he gets a feel for how the game is going. Before last year, Ronnie had been gaining only 3 ypc on his first five carries of the game. But, some people questioned whether that was just purely him not having a feel for the game yet, or the blocking in the first quarter of games. If that's the case, I think Ricky can start games out more quickly because he runs with better vision and instincts right out of the box. Then Ronnie can watch the blocking a little bit, as well as the defense, and jump in.
Thing is, it's not a change of pace. In Dallas, Marion Barber was more prominent than Julius Jones. That could end up being the case here even if Ricky starts and Ronnie Brown is the second guy.
