I have read and listened to lots of talk about how Ricky will fail this year. Just like the first two years with the Fins after being traded from New Orleans, Ricky has something to prove to everyone. His comments in the press conference the day after the first practice say everything I need to hear. Ricky said, "Once I start producing on the field all this negative talk about me will go away." Ricky has something to prove which will make him a very productive and dangerous player this year. Money is not his motivation, but proving the naysayers wrong is. The guy is very different, but very talented!
Thoughts?

Sounds stoned, huh?

I agree
I think he will have a great season its just to bad about the 4 game suspension... I wish we would sign ronnie already to fill in thouse 4 games when he is out.

I think the time off will help Wicky. I think he will enable Saban to use Wicky and Brown as a GREAT ONE/TWO punch. I would hate to be any defense that is going to have to face these TWO hammers for 4 QTR's!

Yeah, well the issue, for me, with RW will be "How long will it last ?" I'll never be too comfortable with his return, just because we never know when he'll spazzz out again and hike the wilderness again...

Won't matter. He's gone by next off-season for sure. We can't afford to keep both Wicky and Ronnie. It just can't happen.

The only way I see that happening is if no one will trade for Wicky and he agrees to a VET minimum/incentive based type of contract. If not he will be traded or released by next off-season.

My point as well. Hopefully he lasts a season so we can trade him for more help somewhere else. And as I always say, I'd wish him the best in his future with another team and after football too. No grudge, just a lack of confidence in his staying.

I would love to see Saban line up Ricky and RB in the backfield about 5 yards apart....and Chambers and Boston or Booker as wideout receivers....Gus or AJ drops back a step and fakes a throw to either side and then gives it to Ricky....the defense would be too spread out to stop us in that formation. :)

I thought that the pick on Ronnie was wasted with Ricky coming back. But after reading his comments, I'm glad we picked him. Ricky is out there...
