Thought I'd pass the time a bit

weirdly enough, that season was derailed by an injury to Jay Fiedler and us not even having a competent backup in Ray Lucas. We had an epic collapse (Fiedler was nowhere near 100% when he came back) that I'm surprised doesn't get talked about more. Ricky has an amazing season, JT was arguably robbed of DPOY award (finished 2nd to Derrick Brooks, who also had a great year, thus I say arguably), great year from Tim Bowens, Pat Surtain, Sam Madison ect.

Now I'll give the Jets credit too, Chad Pennington came into the lineup and rejuvenated that team (you also had the Browns actually get a few bounces finally go their way as well).

I don't know what happened w/ Ray, he did a good job for us as a backup but it didn't work out down there. Fiedler definitely was rushed back and that hurt you. We had a ton of injuries earlier in the season that helped lead to an awful start but we battled back. I know that was a horrible ending for you guys but it was a great one for us.

Don't what anyone says, 2002 Ricky is the greatest running back I've ever seen.

I don't know if I have ever seen a better year from a RB either.

Could you imagine if the Dolphins actually had a quarterback? Where Ricky could've actually seen some nickel and dime packages here and there, instead of a stacked tackle box every snap?

If only Prime Marino and Prime Ricky could've been Fins at the same time.

Fielder got injured in that epic MNF game in mile high where there was a crazy kicker battle at the end. They won and were 5-1 and it all fell apart after that.

It's sad how 2002 is probably still the most memorable season since Marino retired, and we didn't even make the playoffs.

Most memorable seasons since Marino:
2002 (Ricky Beast Mode Season)
2008 (playoffs)
2007 (for the wrong reasons)
2000 (last playoff win)

In a semi-related note: this past Saturday, I bought an orange Ricky Williams jersey for 5 bucks at a garage sale. It's not the official super expensive version, but something I can wear proudly at the sports bar never-the-less. P.S. I also got a white Zack Thomas, for $5, too. It's a little smaller, so my wife can wear that one if she goes. I know it's silly, but I thought I would share because I am kind of excited. I sure do miss having guys like Ricky and Zack on our team. I never thought it would be this hard to replace those guys...

You never thought it would be hard to replace Zach Thomas? he's one of the best LBs in team history. Ricky was different since he quit on you quickly but Zach was a tough guy to replace.

Yep, you are correct. I guess I was thinking that when Taylor left Wake sort of took over and developed nicely into one of the better DE's, so I was kind of hoping we could hit on a MLB, too. Not taking anything away from Zack, just hoping we could land a guy who could play close to his level, that's all.

And just to reminisce - who was on the OL that year? And they opened some serious holes for RW. #qualitycoaching by Tony Wise!
