I hope he knows what he is doing. These ventures rarely go well. I wonder who talked him into this and I hope he has a good management partner behind him. This is probably why 80% of players go broke after they get out of the league.
Miami Dolphins running back Ricky Williams is adding yet another job to his resume: restaurateur.
Williams and former Cincinnati Bengal Rudi Johnson have signed on as co-owners of PROOF on Ocean Drive, a health-conscious restaurant and lounge set to open next month in the Z Ocean Hotel South Beach.

it just seems to me that Ricky is a very nice person and can be pushed around a little, or talked into stuff...

As a genuinely thoughtful, interesting, sincere and nice person, Ricky's terrific so this is just more in the spirit of an obvious joke, but will they be serving Alice B. Toklas Brownies for dessert?

You can't start a joke off by apologizing for telling it!

Oy....Well, it's obviously a niche thing he's going for. That's fine, and, it fits in with his whole image.

Resturants are money sink holes. He'd be better just assureing a trust fund for all his kids to go to school or something. At least that way you don't lose.

I'm a little bit confused here. Numerous people related to sports have started successful restaurants. The guy is doing something that obviously relates to his interests. Ricky is an educated man. More so than most of the people that frequent football message boards. I wish him and Rudi well on this.

Rudi went to high school with me. He is a good guy from a good family. He and Ricky will most likely do just fine.

You guys seem to think that because Ricky is Ricky he is naive. They say that nice guys finish last. It is not because they are nice guys. It's because of the A-holes who surround them like to consider them naive for their kindness.
