I've heard a lot of people talk about Ricky. Do the Fins want him back? How should he be used? etc.

Watching the game I was thinking that Ricky will be fine. He looks great. However, could his presense actually stunt the growth of Ronnie Brown.

Hi Ronnie, welcome to the NFL. BTW, your back up is the best RB in the league. You have 4 games to prove yourself.

I think that is a pretty intimidating situation. I know that no one in Fin camp talks about it in that manner but it might cause him to do to much.

Any thoughts...

Rickys not playing til week 6 anyway. If ronnie does well in the first 4 games, Ricky won't play all that much.

Also, Stephen Jackson last year came in and took the starting roll from an eventual Hall of famer. I think Ronnie should be fine.

ricky will play, not as much as ronnie but he will deff see some playing time, hes proven himself to be back in preseason already

ricky should be our starter when he gets back. hes the best RB on this team, bar none

yes but what if Ronnie Browns accumulated 400+ yards in his absence, with something like 150 yards receiving and 5 total tds?

then ricky just gets put in gradually.

Actually, I feel it will have the opposite effect on him. I believe that this will help his progression. He is gunna get ALOT of carries this year... take that to the bank... He is gunna be under alot less pressure to produce so he can focus more on learning and adjusting with out the pressure to come in and succeed right away. Also, he wont have to carry the full load allowing his body to adjust to the pounding of the NFL...

Nasty

I just keep thinking back to `72 when Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris both went over the 1,000 yd mark. I think both guys will get plenty of opportunities to carry the ball. With all the ?? marks about this team...RB is definitely not going to be a problem area.

yeah we should sit a probowl running back on the bench (ricky) and play a rookie. ha ha hahahah. each has his role. see auburn last year. we are going to mirror them. we are too dangerous with both on the field at the same time.

Almost every successful team has two starting caliber runningbacks on their roster. In my opinion, it will help Ronnie's progression and significantly help our team's as well.

After watching our qbs make badp throws and our receivers drop passes, we are going to need both of our running backs to carry the rock.

Brown will be the starter.

Ricky will most likely be used more as a decoy when he's in there with Ronnie in the 2 back set. Although you never know. The carry percentage could be very well split dead on. I think it'll be more like Ronnie 65% and Ricky the other 35%

First of all I wasn't putting down Ronnie Brown. I think he is a 1,000 yard back. My point was, he might try to do too much in the first four games. I also think Ronnie Brown is the type of back that needs to carry the load in the NFL. He is a physical inside runner who can wear a defense down. Splitting time might hurt his rhythm and the fins. If I remember correctly, he did much better at Auburn when Cadilliac was hurt and he had the show to himself. He beats on you all game long. I think with the fins personal they are going to trade Ricky before the suspension is lifted if Ronnie starts out well. If not he will get traded at some point during the season.

On a side note, what does Ricky get paid. I think he has a low cap figure.
