I have started this thread only in the complete frustration in all the press that he is gotten! I ask to my fellow Dolphin fans, do you think he is going to play for pride, and the team, or is this simply for the release of his debt? I would rather not have Ricky on the team at all if he is, which I believe just coming back to erase his debt, and to keep the mom's of his kids happy with more money.

i rather give the rock after Brown to Goron, Morris, and Kay-Jay and move on with this team. I know I will take crap from the Ricky backers, but I am just sick that this guy keeps getting all the pub, after he quit, and walked out on his team!

Boone, nice to see you out of the Ladies Lounge, I really appreciate your threads that you post!
Thanks! :D I just added a few tonight...

Ill go with 50/50. You cant just quit something and be ok with it since you been doing it since you were a kid. Im also sure he was enjoying being "normal" just going to school and enjoying the tent life. But when you owe that kind of money, you cant just do what he was doing, even if he did like it. I hope he considered it a vacation and the way I see it, if he doesnt perform, with him playing at vet min(as of right now)...thats quite a ways away from paying off the debt. He should come out on fire. (I heard that the $ was dropped but Im not 100% sure, so my thoughts are if he still owes the $)

I'm sure some of you are tirelessly immune to my somewhat overly-vocal presence on this topic. But for those with wandering brows..

I truely, honestly believe Ricky is returning for the money. He has debts, he has responsibilities and for the last five years, he's lived the life of a relative, pot-smoking, rockstar king. That has all come to an end, the dream is fading and the nightmare is more and more relevant.

I think he despises having to return here. A place breathing the steamy hatred he inhales. But he really has no other alternative.

Now if he produces, lets all blow smoke and dance the Mamba in the canals. If we're winning, he can smoke enough backfire spittle to laugh a small island into utopia. I don't really care. So long as Ronnie develops, has a formidable presence, is welcomed respectively to his qualities, skills and not his participation and is not hindered by Ricky's misguided direction in life.

i have no idea what ricky thinks but this is my guess. he loves football, he hates his ego. he is confused. he is trying to figure it out. football is one of the things that he truely excels at so he will keep coming back to it. he was extremely depressed at the end of the dave regime over the way things were going. he likes and believes in saban.

I don't think it's all the money, If you read the latest it looks like his contract won't be 3.7million it will be heavily waited on bonuses.

People will get mad at me but I think alot of it had to be Wanny. Playing for him is a life killer, Ricky wouldn't walk past the age of 30. Running over 300 times a year into linebackers isn't easy, I think that Saban has left the door open for him and with ronnie brown in the back field too there not heavily depended on Ricky. Don't get me wrongI do think he does want the money who doesn't though. I think his weed smoking kind of fogged up his judgement as well. This is just my opinion and the fact of the matter is no one really knows why he is back, only Ricky himself truly knows.

anything we get from ricky is a bonus the way i see it. We drafted ronnie brown to be our guy. Ricky, is just our peasant now.

only time will tell my friend he has to earn that respect back from the players the fans and the city.

I think he is playing for money and self respect. His new holistic healing requires you to be not use drugs, so i dont think thats a problem. I doubt he will have any problems with marijuana because its not physically addictive. He said he smoked it because he just didnt care anymore.

Ricky Williams has always played because he loved the game, and not because of the money. Thats why he stayed at Texas another season when everyone already wrote off he was going to the NFL. About 10% of players do that when they could of been drafted top 10 after their junior year. He also was getting underpaid after his 2002 stellar performance. After rushing for 1850+ behind the worst oline he deserved at least 6 mill a year, but didnt complain.

Ricky has NEVER played for just money his whole football career, like some players do. i think when he puts on the jersey its going to for the money and to pay off his debt. But, when hes out there hes going to give it his all, and would rather prove his doubters wrong. This guy has never been money driven. He declined $535,000 to shave his dreadlocks on a gellitle commercial and then shaved them a month later by himself.

Ricky's returning for the money? Come on man we all know he doesn't have the 8.6 mill to pay back. Of course he is. What Ricky has hopefully finally realized is holistic healing isn't going to pay his future bills and neither is running from life and his supposed troubles on philosphy at this time. I have to believe he has finally been talked into his senses and realizes football is his ticket to not worrying about things he can't resolve right now. He is clearly playing for a contract that will set him up for life even though that won't likely happen in Miami. I believe we'll get the real deal and if that's not enough we have Ronnie Brown.

Ricky didn't hurt anybody last year, except for himself. He doesn't owe us fans anything, Does he???

He could tell his teamates, that he's sorry, and that he is ready to play, but as for last year, that is the past.

Last Year, Ricky didn't kill anybody, nor was he was a threat to anybody. He simply quit the game at a bad time, in which we all thought was at an unfair time.

Real or Fake??? Hmmmmm..........
We'll all find out as a few years go by. Only time can tell.

BTW, Good question and good post.
