I think this guy is here to prove something not only to us, but the entire NFL.
I'm never one to try and predict the future, but I know when someone who is dedicated, and has their mind set right, can accomplish great things.

break out your Ricky Williams jerseys this year. I swear this guy is going to
stun the league.

"I like the fact that I have an opportunity to be the best at what I do, and that's what my motivation is. That's what drives me. I'm just starting to realize that," said Williams, whose 1,853 rushing yards led the league in 2002.

I hope so, what's happened with Ricky's career has been unfortunate, his own doing. He's had the chance to be one of the greatest RB's ever, those day's are gone, but he can still earn respect and end his career on a high note.

I think Ricky always 'got it'. He's an intelligent guy. I don't think he really accepted it. Thats the difference. I still think he's not as performance based as the article suggests. He just wants to be the best at what he does. A few years ago that was the best flake. Now is the best RB. I just hope it sticks this time around.

What I've been thinking about Ricky the past day or so is how much longer do we have him. This time next year is he on our roster? If he lights it up he'll get a payday for sure. I would like to keep him around for at least another season after this one. But we'll see. I can't see this organzation holding on older players much anymore. Although Parcells has a way with difficult players. (LT comes to mind.)...

Tear it up Ricky.. (Thank God I kept my Williams jersey!)

I think Parcells keeps him for another season.
Ricky wants to get paid next year. He's going to tear it up!

RW's has ALWAYS been a stellar football player... in practice and on Sundays... a special talent....

Whatever his personal motivations are... so be it... because there's NEVER been a time when he's taken the field he didn't give 100%... and 100% of RW's WILL MAKE some DC's very uneasy.... something they haven't been in very long time when GPing against the Dolphins offense.

Ricky's future is really hard to get a gauge on. On one hand, if he has a great season this year ie: 1,300 yds, Pro Bowl, Comeback Player of the Year, etc. I could see him retiring and walking off into the sunset with a sense that he's redeemed himself and gave it one last good run. On the other hand, I also think sees the number 10,000. 10,000 yds is the benchmark for RB's and Ricky may feel that he's got several years left on his body to obtain that goal.

It could go either way with him, but no matter how you slice it. Just appreciate the here and now with him, because when his game is in top form, he is an elite RB.

Im really not worried about ricky at all. I think he will have a strong year for us. I also think he is going to be here for several more years, and here's some of the reasons why...1 he is motivated to play, for whatever reasons he has, he is motivated, 2 he is still very productive, 3 his physical attributes havnt declined like most RB's with his age, 4 His style fits what our team wants in a RB, and 4 maybe most importantly Parcells really likes him. I think Parcells will want to keep him, a very hard working talented rb who fits the game plan, good pratice player, and fits the mold Parcells is looking for. Lets face it, we are getting a great back for minimum wages!

This isn't about redeeming himself in the eyes of the fans.....its about earning a paycheck and proving hes worthy of another contract. If Ricky can show hes back at top form someone will give him a deal. Hes never sniffing LT money, but a couple years at 5 mil per should be enough to set him up for life.

I have to because it's the only one I have with a player who's still on the team....

I think Ricky is here for the next 3 - 4 years. I think he'll retire a Dolphin.

This organization has stuck by him and weathered his personal struggles. I think he'll stay dedicated to this organization and realize where his football home is. Parcells will give Ricky a fair contract offer with the opportunity to earn more (incentives). But, while many of you think this is all about the money, I think it's about him restoring his image and challenging himself to respect his body's ability and not waste his talent.

Ricky has outwardly spoken about self-actualization. And while each person's journey does not always mirror the "normal" path, I think Ricky's journey has brought him full circle with the Phins.

I predict he'll finish a Dolphin with a new contract. It will probably be for 3 - 4 years. It will contain respectable base money, decent signing bonus, incentive clauses and penalty clauses.

I think Ricky's new contract will be a model for organizations to protect themselves moving forward against the personal failures of athletes. In wake of Michael Vick, Ricky and other troubled players, I believe new contract language is being forged to protect teams with their signing bonuses, base salaries and overall liabilities with a player who "voids" team and league conduct policies.

I anticipate 3 - 4 years, $2M - $3M/year, $3M - $7M signing bonus with incentives. I'm sure a sizable amount of his money will be for camp participation and other measurable events that require his being with the team. And, I'm sure there will be forfeiture clauses protecting the team.

This contract is not about Ricky getting rich. It's about Ricky securing his life's finances. And a chance to end his career respectably.

ricky he's a beast, a dog, he's a mother ****in problem. to quote lil wayne haha
