I know free agency has grabbed every one uncontrollably, but Ricky is still there in the background. He wants to play for the 'Fins this year and has officially applied to be reinstated this year. Apparently he is still weed-free, and even remained in the US so the NFL could continue to test him... I guess if he had traveled for "peaceful travel and meditiation" in India again, the NFL could have considered he was avoiding drug tests. But because he decided to stay to be tested, there is a very good chance he will be back.
I know he is a weirdo, but he's still intriguing! We could be very good if he is in fact reinstated, and he taps into that vegetarian "animal instinct" he refers to in the article.

So any way, sorry if someone else posted this because I know the article is a few days old, but I haven't seen it on finheaven... really interesting article (at least it was interesting to me). Link below:

I hope he can stay clean. That man can flat out run with the ball. Will be a major plus for the fins if his head is on right.

Ricky even makes the patriots s*** their pants when he's in the backfield so, yea thatd be awesome, i personally dont see why everyone is like "no get that weirdo (cant use some words that ive heard) off the field and out of our locker room." etc etc... The guy can run, flat out, run. Id take him, i dont care about his baggage.

Think about it like this T.O. who will reck your locker room, or Ricky who will just be high (if he does smoke, which im not doubting)....Id take ricky just for being chill all the time.

Whats this guy gotta do to show some of you people what an idiotic dopehead he is?

With all due respect, you're discounting a guy who is being tested by the NFL 2 times a week or more, and accusing him of still being a dopehead... yet counting the goals of a guy in a sport which is virtually irrelevant in the US, whose name equates to sperm? (Alexander Semin goal count?)
The point of my response is to show your name-calling of Ricky is clearly personal in nature. People change. He is a very good football player with a checkered past... yeah, he screwed us. Fine. But how can he be tested 2 or more times PER WEEK for drugs, and still have people like you calling him dope head?! His last test was NOT for weed. Dude is trying to improve his life. Give him a break. Remind the judge if you ever a mistake in life, that you don't believe in 2nd chances...

I am with the majority that hopes he comes back. Dude gives this team a different dimension. Hell he even made saban look like he knew what he was doing.......

I am so sick of him and all his baggage........

I am so sick of him and all his baggage........

I know. Good point. But consider that baggage with incredible and AMAZING talent, at a minimum salary. An INCREDIBLE risk versus reward.... would you prefer a minimum salary on a marginal talent who will at best be a special teams Ace? Or the same salary on a guy who has the talent and ability to be a top 15 player in the ENTIRE NFL?
I know, he could be banned permanently tomorrow. But in my mind there is a difference in a wife-beater, and a self-sabotager. RW has shown he desires real change and improvement for his own life, and is not a gun-toting fool looking to end other peoples lives... this to me is a sign of hope, if not maturity.

I don't get the negativity from some people on this subject. The guy runs wild for us when he's there. If he helps win games I don't care what kind of baggage he brings. He's not bad in the locker room or on the field. He doesn't seem to negatively impact this team in any way other than when he's not allowed to play. He will never again be the #1 RB on this team again and therefore, even if he were to slip again and wind up suspended mid way thru the season, it won't be too terrible a loss. By-gones... Let 'em be.

I'm glad ricky's hopefully coming back. It's hard to come to grips with how much wrong-doing he's done to this team and organization, but just on a personal note i hope he does manage to gain some respect again (assuming that on this 5th occasion he actually is telling the truth). And honestly I doubt we're going to place so much faith in him that if he manages to be truly dumb and test + again and get himself banned for life, that we'll really be that thrown for a loop as a team. No one expects anything out of him now anyway so yea if he messes up again no one's really going to care, apart from the 1000's of "told you so you're so dumb" posts on here. Give him a shot, whatever happens happens. I'd rather have him filling that last roster spot than some no-name guy who we promoted from the practice squad as a 4th string RB who will never see time for the same price. Good Luck, Ricky, you sure are gonna need it.

Oh but sidenote: if we sign Stallworth we're screwed cuz they'll just smoke together :smoker::lol:
