Ricky Williams still going strong!

Thr really nice part about having two all pro caliber running backs is that it gives us the advantage of always have fresh legs on the field every play of every game and it also is kinda like an injury insurance policy for our running game.

Injuries are less likely since our backs are not being over worked and if one should go down we have still have one that defenses have to game plan against.

I loved that line. I watched the interview " its just one more yard than 99" haha love his attitude.

Watch Ricky after Ronnie scores his TD. He was showing plenty of emotion congratulating RB. Just because he doesn't spike the ball and jump around after he scores doesn't mean he's only playing for money.

The only weird thing was watching Ricky's reaction after the TD, he showed no emotion at all. I love watching Ricky but I still am not sure his heart is in it, I think he is just playing for the money.

Barry Sanders didn't show emotion after TDs either. In fact, I don't think Barry Sanders even spiked the football. If I remember correctly, Barry Sanders would just calmly give the ball to the nearest referee.

Sometimes shy, introverted people don't like to jump up & down and make a big scene.

Just walking back and handing the ball to the ref like he was at warmups just didn't cut it for me. I wanted to see him show emotion, get into the game, and play like the Ricky I know can play.

That's exactly what Barry Sanders used to do after touchdowns.

Why give shy people a hard time for acting differently?

Besides, the Barry Sanders / Ricky Williams non-celebration method has its advantages: no chance of penalties for excessive celebration.

Never saw Walter Payton do any different than Ricky. Payton was all class and one of the best RB of all time. When asked why he didn't spike the ball or anything he just he didn't know just felt like it was no big deal since he'd done it before. Loved that response, score a touchdown and act like you've done it before.

Yeah, I agree, but that's not really what I was trying to say. It isn't just that one TD, it's been really his enthusiasm on the field. Up until this game he didn't look like the same Ricky to me, not the same burst, not the same punishing defenders, not making the first guy miss, hitting the edge fast, etc. He seemed to be playing listlessly. I'm hoping that he keeps doing what he showed in this last game cause that's the Ricky I know and love.

Based on the coaches' comments, it sounds like Ricky Williams has been working very hard in practice and conditioning.

He might be slightly slower and less powerful than his prime, but I think Ricky Williams is still one of the better RBs in the league.

I don't care if Ricky's heart is in it or not. Sometimes the guys who love the job are the ones who do the worst at it. Ricky has an exceptional work ethic and has gone above and beyond on the field of play this year. I would say that I wish all professionals could be like Ricky, but then we would be left with no NFL when they all spontaneously retire.

"Just walking back and handing the ball to the ref like he was at warmups just didn't cut it for me"

LT has done this for years, so would you imply that his heart isn't with the game? Personally I think it shows more class to hand the ball off rather than make a huge scene in the endzone.
