Ricky Williams

Not a big football comment here, but I wanted to share this with the Dolphin fans. When Ricky was in New Orleans, I had the chance to meet him on muptiple ocassions. He used to eat in a local deli and I'd run into him there with ocassion. I also met him at the Saints practice facility and at an after-hours banking function where the key Saints players attended for PR reasons.

If you've never met this guy personally, he is/was built like Hercules. When he was with the Saints, he used to brag about he didn't push the weights too much, yet he had muscles on top of muscles on top of muscles. He was extremely shy and almost unapproachable. He had a sizable home along the lakefront in Metairie and very few furnishings, except he was liked by the neighborhood teenagers because he would play them in video games. All in all, a very cool dude.

Never met anyone quite like him....and I've met many pro ball players in my life.

Interesting story, I think a lot of people misjudge him just because of his run in with the NFL's drug policy. He is a role model on Miami right now, attending all possible OTA's in the offseason, and not asking for a huge role, not complaining, liking his role as it is. I'm really glad Parcells, Ireland, and Sparano decided to bring him back.

Have never met him. The only time I have seen him in person was at the Cardinals game last year. I hope to get down to Miami to meet him next year, just have to talk the wife into it.

I actually really liked Ricky for a long time, even when he was going through his drug thing. I'm really proud that we have a guy like that on our staff, and I hope that he does good now and after he does decide to leave the league.

PS I'd play Ricky in any vid game any day of the week lol...
