Ricky Williams I think will be the best RB in the league when he exits it. This is My opinon. I watch alot of game clips of him running and seeing him lower his shoulder and plow through defenders like a steamroller is great. In 2002 he had an excellent season i think he could have went passed 2000 if Jay was Quarterback instead of Lucas. Even though he had his single game rushing record with lucas 228. I see NEW Ricky in 2004 running a stampede all over the NFL rushing record. I just cant see him leaving the league w/o breaking the record. Remember this is my opinon and regardless he is a dolphin i have always liked him through college and even as a saint.

Those expectations are simply too high. Our O-line would have to be unbelievable for him to get 2,000 yds. If anything, I hope he gets less carries this year.

That's a tough record to break, and Ricky would have to have a very long career in order to reach those heights given the somewhat slow start to his career in New Orleans.

I have actually talked this over with friends, and we believe that the most likely current back to break the record is Tomlinson simply due to his relatively fast start and the age advantage he has over Ricky.

Don't get me wrong -- I think Ricky is great. I'm just saying I won't be disappointed if he falls short and simply has a HOF-worthy career.

i SAid he will break it before he exits not next season ....i think i did but i meant it. But yes less carries would be great

Duh -- I see you meant single season. Yeah, he can very likely do that. I was talking about the career record...

no im saying a season record not a career record of yrds 2,106 i think he will beat before he leaves

I dont know, with more passing next year i'd be much happer with a trip to the superbowl with our new high flying offense than and individual just break a record. Im sure he would too. =)

Hopefully this year he will be able to break some longer runs without a stacked line and with some down field blocking with the trio of Macmichaels, Boston Chambers. That will help those numbers.

i expect him to have less carries, a higher yard per carry and about the same amount of yards next year. i expect the passing game to make the difference.

even with boston on board now i think this will still be primarily a running offense. ricky will probably have less carries but more YPK with open running lanes. he may very well break that record in the next couple of seasons
