Do we get the $8 million dollars back from Ricky Williams now that he has been suspended for a year? If we do what could we do with that money?

Easy children, play nice. This is the 5th Rick thread on here though...so its understandable.

hire an expensive hitman to take ricky and his entire herbal camp in INDIA OUT....thats what we do with his money

why does everyone care so damn much about the 8 million. its not your money, its h. wayne's who cares. i think that money already went against the cap in previous years so it isnt like we are going to get 8 million more cap dollars to work with!

Well, I would for one would like to know if the Fins do get the 8 million back (which is important because 8 million lost will have had to affect the organization in some negative way, or maybe not), that was due in Ricky's contract. We all know that is why he came back last season and what I want to know is if he will get the money or if the Dolphin organization will. I find this to be a very important aspect of this Ricky situation because the organization as well as Saban (oh god, I'll get killed)will look foolish if they gave up 8 million dollars for a guy to play one year. As for Ricky wanting to play in 2007 I hope the Dolphins do then what they should've done last year and tell him no, just move on with another back maybe in the later rounds of the draft this year or next, but just put Ricky Williams out of the organiztion and forget all of the negative press he has brought this team over the last year or so. Murder this post if you will, but I got to speak my mind on this subject no matter how many insults I may get.

I don't think the money was even Wayne's. Wasn't it paid by New Orleans, but Miami by trading for Ricky got the money by assignment of the original contract. That's what I remember anyways, as a signing bonus paid by NO.. So if anything, it pads Wayne's or the Dolphins organizations pocketbook, but doesn't help the team itself with singing of any players or anything.

rickys contract was redone for the express purpose of no risk. thats what made the whole thing work for everyone. And it still can as long as we find out what that substance or the reasoning for the failed drug test so they can know what it is that affected the failed test. Then you correct it. Rickys contract extends out to another year. Just like it did this past year.

Ricky Williams made the league minimum salary. It has no effect on the salary cap. The $8M that Ricky owes the Dolphins is signing bonus money that had been paid in previous seasons. Once he breached his contract, his salary dropped to the league minimum. That's why this is a tough blow to the team. There's no way you can sign another RB with Ricky's talent. for league minimum

I dont think he has to give anything back, now if he doesnt play in 2007 (I think the final year of his contract) then he might have to pay it.
