They were making bad calls all day long.

ESPECIALLY that 4th down call.. That was sickening. Howard sucks, but that was NOT PI!

there were two BS calls in the last 5 minutes. the one on howard was BS, and the No-Call on madison was BS (lets be honest)

one horrible call deserves another horrible no-call i guess

I hate to complain about a call against our team, because it always sounds like knee-jerk homerism.

But yes, that call was utter crap.

Madison could have been called for PI in the end zone a little later, and I'd have had to admit that while it wasn't flagrant, it would have been a valid call. So I guess we got it back, sort of.

I agree with that.. but the game SHOULD have been over at that point.. Worst call Ive ever seen.

Yeah there were some bad calls. But I'm just happy that they didn't throw a flag on that third down play where the defender and WR had contact in the end zone.... If they would have I would have to go to Walmart today and buy a new TV :)

The NFL needs to learn that Walt Coleman is a disgrace. He screwed up the Pats-Raiders snow game and it has been downhill from there. That PI call on 4th down ranks among the worst that I have EVER seen.

They didn't see Madison grab his arm which is why they didn't call it.

It just seems like there have been more and more horrible calls this year by refs for every team. I mean how many times have I read where the league has sent an apology to a coach for a bad call or no call. Even the writers are getting into saying the refs arent doing a great job like pastabelly on espn. I think its time to get some new refs especially after some of the crap I saw today.

I'm just disgusted about the whole PI rule. What more can the league give Offenses? At least make it 15 yards the most like college. For the lesser teams to resort to WWF I mean WWE tactics is ridiculous.

The PI is out of control. They need to let people have a chance to play defense. I personally enjoy when a defensive back makes a great play when the two are fighting for the ball etc.

Marino would have had 70 TD's if defenses had to play like they do today.

I wrote a post about the same things just as this one popped up. Can someone who taped the game tell me whether or not L Coles jumped the snap on the 3rd down play at the end of the game?????...and what happened in the 2nd Qrtr when the Jets declined a penalty...Mare came on to try a FG then the Jets changed thier minds and accepted the penalty???. I have never seen anything like that before???

We should be lucky they didn't call Madison for interference. At least they did better than last week. I'm just happy we no longer have a losing record!

While I agree Coleman, along with Tom White, is the worst Referee in the league, he did not throw the flag on the Howard PI call. That was Back Judge Richard Reels.
Coleman goes overboard on the roughing the passer calls. That should not have been called on Taylor, and also should not have been called on Vilma a short time later. He also seems to let a lot of offensive holding go uncalled. There were obvious holds committed on Carter and Taylor today that looked to be in plain sight for Coleman to call, and he let it go.

I actually think Bollinger drew that call by snapping his head back when it wasn't actually touched. It might have been accidental, but it looked like an acting job to me.

And I genuinely mean that as a compliment - great move by a young QB, if that's what he did. But the call itself was bad.
