They list him as a 4.5/40 guy, but I can assure you that he is faster than 4.5. He is in 4.35-4.4 range. He has good hands, tough and at 6'3"215lbs. he has more than enough size for the position. He is an excellent downfield blocker. Actually sometimes it seems as though he enjoys blocking more than catching the ball. The only thing that scares me, coming from UF, is the recent history of WRs. (Percy had an excellent rookie campaign but he is much more than just a WR.) The offense UF runs does not provide a good training ground for the NFL. But Riley is an intelligent player and is more than willing to put in the effort to improve his game. He will give you all he he's got.:up:http://www.gatorsports.com/article/.../1136?Title=Cooper-giving-up-baseball-for-NFL

man this one is tough. great speed, amazing blocker, but i'm not sure about those hands. he dropped so many easy ones this year - so many i though he'd go the baseball route for sure. i wouldn't touch him until the 6th myself.

Ha ha, Riley is a moron. I know personally because him and Tebow were my neighbors in Gainesville. The kid's a grade A douchebag (think redneck guido). He has mediocre hands and is a 4.5, high 4.4 range in the 40. He has good speed but is no way a blazer with a mid 4.3. Also he has very limited route running experience that primarily consist of slants, flies and speed outs which are rounded out and don't require a juke and cut move. He'll be lucky to be drafted in the fifth round and won't merit a worthy spot on an NFL roster.

Hmmm, i smell a Hater.........

I still live in Gainesville and I'm glad he decided to come back and is looking to get into the NFL.

Some people are going to be surprised at his speed. He was always talked about here for running with and sometimes outrunning some of our fastest players like Louis Murphy.

Riley Cooper stepped up big time for the gators... i don't know about intermediate routes, but he sure can go deep, and work the underneath area...

I do not know where you are coming up with bad hands. He is not Lester Hayes with a mound of stickum on his hands. But he is no better or worse than your average WR.

you don't recall any of those bombs that tebow tossed where cooper was wide open and it right through his hands? happened too much last year. that worries me b/c tebow throws very catchable balls - no reason why he should've been doing that all year.

Strengths:
Excellent natural athleticism --- Great height and bulk --- Soft, reliable hands --- Great body control and ball skills --- Good leaper --- Runs hard after the catch --- Physical --- Very tough --- Not afraid to work the middle of the field --- Plays fast and can get vertical --- Above average blocker --- Smart --- Also a fine special teamer --- Still has some upside.

Cooper is a good talent, but he is exactly like Hartline, except I dont know if he can run better routes than Hartline did at that time, cause hes one of our best right now,and Hartline was an underclassmen then, and was still very more polished than Cooper is now.

Just dont think we need another player whos very ideal to a player we already have.

Just a second ago he had a horrible drop at the senior bowl. showing on NFL Network now.

He did create decent separation though, and yes he did need to use a juke or two to get open. But dropped the ball that hit him in the chest. Just awful.

Riley Cooper really had a bright future in baseball. Surprised, but he'll be a serviceable 4th WR for a team most likely. He'll more than likely never reach 1st or 2nd WR ability, but he plays a similar type of game as his former teammate Louis Murphy, so you never know.
